Six Launcher needs a Day/Night Filter

Recommended Posts

There needs to be an easier way to find night servers and day servers. Everyday for the last 2 weeks, the servers I've logged into are night time only. And in this game, you cant see anything but the stars at night, nor given any way to see in the dark. Is there an obvious way to find daytime servers, or do I have to log into 7-8 diffrent servers everyday to find one where the sun exhists?

step 1. See outside your window.

step 2. Is is day or is it night?

step 3. Find out which timezone you're in.

step 4. if your timezone is gmt+0 and its night, that means that servers that are gmt-8-6 have day. Most servers have the Timezone in the server name.

step 5. Join a server that has day.

step 6. ???

Step 7. Profit.

Many servers are incorrect though... I don't use six launcher or really care, just saying a lot of servers are not correct.

This is unreliable as many servers are not synced.

Right for the most part. I wouldn't say that "most" servers have the timezone in the server name. Quite a few do, but a LOT of them don't.

I haven't heard about this application before. How safe is it?

It's totally safe, but it lies alot to me, pretty much useless to be honest...

DayZ commander has been spot on with day/night and server settings, at least when it is able to retrieve them. Also can update both ArmA2OA and your DayZ installs at the push of a button, can set it up for Steam and update that for you too.

Apart from whatever anyone else is saying about learning your time zones, this suggestion would be better suited on the 6updater site. Chances are Sickboy has never read a DayZ forum post in his life and no one on the DayZ new player boards works for Sickboy. Making this a big waste of typing to suggest it here.

Well Frostback, that's actually not true. He reads here, and his team reads here as well. :)

The reason why there is no Day/Night filter in the SIX Launcher is, that that information is just not reliable enough. I tried that feature in DayZ Commander, and it doesn't work 90% of the time anyways. So I just stick to SIX.

Also, there is a brand new version of SIX beeing released rigth now:

http://Play.withSIX.com

Go and check it out. :)
