I don't worry about my gear. Some of the most fun I've had was when I fresh spawned and had to start all over. I'm getting to know the map better and better each time I do this. I definitely recommend not being a gear tard if you've never played Arma before and can't figure out where you are by looking at the terrain in game. Each life expands my understanding of the map much better than any printed out or digital map of the game. This is why I don't alt-f4. That and I'm not a coward.
