Playing DayZ on a second PC?

Recommended Posts

So im going on holiday soon and ill want to put DayZ on my laptop, how would i go about doing that and still keep the same character and all my stuff?

I bought Arma 2 CO on steam, so i was thinking id just backup my steam games on an External HDD, then install the lot on my laptop, followed by redownloading the Six Launcher. Is that right or am i missing something?

The copy of the game you bought has 2 Keys in it, one for Arma2 and one for Arma2 OA, those 2 keys will always stay the same it doesn't matter if you install the game on a different computer, or install it for the 1000th time, and your key is bound to your guid, which logically stays the same aswell.

Your guid again is bound to your character, so all in all, yes your character will stay the same, as will your location, your gear etc.

Just install Arma 2 and Arma 2: OA on your laptop and install the DayZ mod.. nothing will change and you should have the same character because it's on the same Arma 2: OA GUID

All your data is saved on the hive, and recognised by CD key. As long as your ArmA installation on your laptop, uses the same CD key as your PC at home, you will have all your stuff.
