Crashaa2 0 Posted July 25, 2012 I bought the game 2-3 days ago off Steam sale. When I first installed Arma 2, OA and DayZ, everything went fine and I could play. Yesterday when some kind of update came out I started getting this error though. I've since tried reinstalling the game 4 times without any luck. I've tried to fix it using this post as well, no luck: (http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/32290-arma-2-oa-has-stopped-working-crash-to-desktop-fixed/)Today I reinstalled my windows due to different problem and tried to install the game again. Right after Steam had installed the game I launched the game to complete the 2nd step of the install of DayZ: "Steam users: Run the game at least once through the Steam launcher as Administrator". I went to boot camp and launched the last mission but the same crash occured. That's before even installing the DayZ mod. I'm out of ideas now.snapshot of the error attached. Drogur (DayZ) 169 Posted July 25, 2012 I get 'ARMA2 stopped working' error on launch Right click ARMA 2 in STEAM - 'Properties' - 'Local Files' - 'Verify integrity of game cache'. Redownload and make sure you are using the latest version of DayZ mod files. Try launching the game without DayZ mod, see if it works. If it does reinstall DayZ mod files. Try installing the latest beta patch (see above). http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_install_DayZ
Crashaa2 0 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) The thing is it's not the mod that causes it. I installed the game via Steam and didn't do anything else and as I load any mission in the game it crashes about 1/3 of the way on the loading bar. But I will try the steam properties. Drogur (DayZ) 169 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) exactly.....has nothing to do with dayz.....your install is corrupt or done wrong.... Edited July 25, 2012 by Drogur

GangreeL 3 Posted July 27, 2012 If u had the game installed and u re - istalled it check the launch options box of Arma2 OA for previous commands u may have put there like (-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@dayz -nosplash -noPause -world=empty -maxMem=2047 -maxVRAM=2047 -winxp).For some retarded reason they r still there after fresh install.Delete em n try. Anton17 97 Posted July 27, 2012 I'm getting this only running the BETA shortcut. ARMA2OA works fine as it is, but running the BETA for DayZ just gives me this message. If I delete and reinstall the BETA, it works for the next play session, then goes back to crashing. What do I do? I thought using the BETA shortcut was the only way to launch DayZ? If the BETA is now redundant, how do you launch DayZ and why is it crashing?
