This Is Best Game I've Ever Played

I just thought I'd post and say that I think this is probably the best game I've ever played.

Ok it's buggy , clunky and almost impenetrably hard to new players. But it is more compelling and evokes more emotional responses than any other game I've ever played.

The stories that I have experiences and heard told by other players are second to none.

In no other game can I apply real world solutions to problems and be rewarded. In no other game does every decision seem so important. No other game makes mundane tasks so rewarding and fun.

It's bloody brilliant.

Agreed. This is definitely what I've always wanted from a multiplayer game. And I couldnt be happier that it was built into Arma 2.

Well, this isn't actually a game, but a modification of an already epic game that has just been made more epic.

I think you boys are in for a treat, as this is only alpha, wait till the beta version comes out, then I think we'll be foaming at the mouth.

This thread is much needed though it won't get nearly as much attention as a hate thread or flame thread would.

But it really is an amazing game, when you can cut out the amount of flaming and hate that the forums receive, You find that it's really not a bad mod at all.

Hell. I went on a simple walk to get a friend and it turned into some massive adventure. xD Any other game we'd have just walked from point A to point B and met up. But not Day Z you go from Point A to Point Omega.

Just wanted to post and give my thanks for this mod. I had pretty much quit gaming due to lack of interest. This mod has brought me back, and is easily the best "game" I have ever played. I love the huge world and the gritty survival!!!

Same. I had almost given up on this years titles. Seems everything is pointed towards casual these days. The fact that this mod has received so much attention by all players should be an indication of what players want; something different. I'm tired of being marketed to and it's nice to finally be heard and have a game that delivers on all aspects.

EDIt: Guys, give this thread five stars. Too many people have been clicking the "i'm an unappreciative asshole because I cant even realize all of this work was put into a FREE mod that has more content than most full games" button

109hrs last 2 weeks...wow you weren't kidding Nya, im only upto 40 or so for the last 5 days...better get busy haha

but on topic...best game...the story is ours to write...i walked into a barn...he looked at me...i walked out of the barn with a new winchester...BEST MOMENT EVER! obviously alot more tense epicness to that small encounter...but thats what makes this game brilliant...every small thing is a life or death matter.

if it was a choice of this vs all my other games combined...this wins.

I've been playing computer games since mid 80's - that's near 30 years now! - and DayZ is #1 for me. And it's just in alpha phase. Go figure!

Yeah me too I've been a gamer since there have been computer games pretty much and this is a step up.

And yes I'm aware its a mod for a game, I got Arma II when it came out and really wanted to love it but never really felt it.

Its a great (if clunky) engine for this piece of genius though.

Snarl and everyone hates you, but you get better service. (Learned this when dealing with Gateway support -_-; )

Anyways, the mod is awesome and it's still in Alpha stage. I've never seen an Alpha be not only fun, but awesome, and this is coming from someone that has tested a LOT...LOT of games.

Been playing games now for over 30 years and tbh was getting bored of the dumbed down console ports and just plain bad PC games that are churned out these days i.e. cod/battlefield.

However the only light on the horizon was Arma2 more specifically Operation Arrowhead which I've been playing since it came out and loving it. It's a great game that can be as complicated or simple as you want; you decide.

Now it's been elevated to EPIC status with this mod. I just can't wait for the final version when the Alpha is this good :) and with Arma 3 coming it's gonna be a good year for PC gaming :)

The intensity of this game reminds me of the good old days of World War II Online, sitting in a bunker manning a gun, in the pitch black staring at the door way, afraid to blink. Listening to the panzers moving in....the screaming and dying getting closer. Knowing that soon they would rush the door I was guarding, and if they got through the city would be lost, and it could take days to get it back, if ever.

I got hooked on that game pretty bad, back then. I'm pretty hooked on DayZ now. Exactly my kind of crack.

Yeah i've put in about 80 hours. Like i said I can see the flaws but I'm still getting scared by my own shadow or by sneaky goats lol and still loving it.
