How to use the forums properly

This thread is a PSA for newer forum users who are unfamiliar with the little quirks of the dayz forums. If you do everything in my signature you will avoid most of the pitfalls, and coupled with this thread, your posts will stay original and meaningful!

Do not start topics about the following(there are others, but these are big ones IMO):

1. PvP/PvE-Just search the topic you want to read about and comment on, since this is probably one of the most discussed aspects of the game.

2. Respawn confirmation-It is amazing how many people just go to the forums immediately after accidentally respawning to ask for this. It has already been asked for, you may as well just not waste your time.

3. AS50 and M107 nerfs-This may come under PvP, but these particular threads are very common.

4. Bug complaints-There is a bug report part of the forum, use it!

5. Bandits-It does come under PvP, but these are exceptionally redundant.

Basic things to do when making topics

1-Do a quick search before you post something, nothing too heavy. Just type in your idea and look for related threads.

2-Do not post suggestions in a list format. One or two ideas, not ten. It is really hard to give detailed feedback on ten ideas in one post without writing an essay, and most people don't want to write an essay.

When replying

1. Give good, related feedback. Try to stay constructive and on-topic.

2. If you disagree, avoid insulting the person.

"I disagree with this because(insert respectfully stated reason)"<-----Good

I am sure there are so many other things I left out, but this is just a basic guide. This is just a part of my crusade to make the dayz forums an internet utopia of amazing ideas and astute feedback. Maybe it can be a sticky? If it doesn't, at least some people will read it....

I think your post was good. But not really a suggestion, which made it funny given its subject.
