Proposal: Survivor Aid Stations

Recommended Posts

What do you guys think about publicly setting up tents near the coast for survivors to pick up supplies?

My idea is to put a few tents somewhere between Cherno and Elektro and keep them stocked with food, drinks, medical supplies and gear, for anyone in need of supplies. I wouldn't stock weapons and the supplies would be free (with a request that people only take what they need).

This is just an idea I've been mulling over since small-town raids and living off the land up north is getting a bit boring (even after respawning and making the trek north all over again). The logistics are no small task, I would need volunteers and/or donations. there are security issues to work out too, surely the lack of weapons will not deter every bandit, but I don't want it to be a place with guards posted and shoot on sight orders are given at the first sign of conflict, perhaps an Anti-Bandit Clan could lend it's services if and when the bandit situation gets out of hand.

Let me know what you think of the idea and if you'd like to volunteer (donation requests will begin if this gets off the ground).

It's gonna be a bandit's paradise, but if I hope you try and I hope you are successful.

if it's even remotely possible to have a vehicle stop near your station expect to be cleaned out in {robo-micro-seconds}.

In its pure form this is a good idea however human nature will dictate that the aid station maybe camped by snipers and become a focal point for bandits/trolls alike.

I'm picturing groups of injured and hungry survivors being picked off on their way to the station or a grenade attack on large numbers of survivors gathered in one spot. OR this - http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/3623-confess-your-sins-here-the-worst-thing-youve-d/page__st__40#entry47327

Just some of the security issues to think about :D

We already have a project ongoing. We ran into an issue yesterday when the dreaded tent-bug ate all of our supplies... Hopefully today's update is fixing this and we'll be back on track soon..

Check our thread here: http://dayzmod.com/f...-fellow-medics/ if you fancy helping out.

Our idea differs form yours in that we will have small supply tents dotted around the map full with the basic things a Medic needs. This will stop them having to worry about constant supply run's and concentrate on their medical duties.

We will have tents set up in locations to the south with basic gear (matches, handgun, canteen, compass, map ect.) so a medic that is killed on a mission will be able to get up and running again quickly.
