DayZ is a scumbag.

Oh, so you want to loot that firestation? Better glitch you into the stairs and kill you.

You first.

The community has basically adopted a play style where they go around killing people under the guise of "survival". So, new players, and the minority of people who chose to be passive, are therefore being trolled by the ones who prey on the weak, or unprepared. Which is generally trolling. They're being trolled, because once you enter that viscious cycle, it never ends. The victim after being sniped, and ninja hatchet'd so many times decides to be a bandit, and troll other players. Much like the infected come after the survivors and trolls alike for their brains.

This game sort of has this neon facade about "survival", "Sandbox"..etc when in reality the endgame..which is basically the player realizes there isn't much to the game other than either sitting in a bush somewhere with a sniper rifle, or running around with the caps lock button smashed screaming and ranting with a hatchet in his hand towards what he perceives as bandits. With a giant train of zombies behind him...driven insane by getting shot from miles away..over and over again..basically scenarios that lead to you, or a group of individuals killing other players..who have good intentions, or bad intentions.

Outside of the isolated cases where bandits get murdered by pure souls..

The game is basically an open consequence free environment to frustrate the hell out of people.. Since, more often than not, the worldly possessions you accrue in this game do sort of build up a sentimental value..moreso when the item is quite rare, and maybe you've had some hardship with the games engine trolling you by breaking a limb on a door.

And before people throw the carebear remark at me, i'm just having a little fun with what I feel is the general mood amongst the boards and the player base alike.

Anytime someone pipes up about being a little frustrated about the game, it becomes clear that there are the people who get it, and the people who haven't gotten it, or refuse to get it.

And the "it" is..you're not playing DayZ right unless you're trolling to the maximum.

Not saying it's wrong. Just saying..if you got a problem with DayZ..it's because you haven't realized the game is a giant troll.

Oh, look another asshole coming into a thread assuming OP is bitching about his personal experience.

If you -read- that, and took it seriously.

Stop taking everything seriously.. I'm just trying to have a little fun with all the negative emotions flying around here. Or, how should I say, trolololo?

The "Shock" mechanic is the biggest troll in the world.

Everything in this game is a troll.

Scumbag zombies let you crouch run eveywhere around town, until you find a nice primary..you get out of that deerstand, and forget to double shift.. SEND AFTER ALL THE ZOMBIES! You panic, and run to a warehouse/barn/station..etc, door is closed, upon opening it, said door sucks you into some alternate dimension where doors break limbs and clip you through the ground.

After i die and lose all my gear, I usually run around in Cherno/Elektro on populated servers and integrate myself into "friendly" groups.

When I've hung around with them for a while, I chop them down with my axe

this i like.

There is a third type of player you fail to mention, one who goes about his business not by sitting in a bush and waiting for his thirst or hunger to flash and thus satiate the need with a swift right click to the water bottle or meat stash. Not by wanting simply the highest tier gear and not by killing other players. One who observes all of the mad happenings and sometimes takes part to help if he/she can. One who silently amasses a score of dead living dead, flitting through dangerous areas and leaves the others to kill each other mindlessly and fill their thirst for their own ends. One who doesnt mind a nice evening bicycle ride with the chance of a gunshot cracking across the fields. Always ready to flee at the sign of danger but ensconed in a hidden position with several chances of escape. One who doesn't lose their shit every time they spot a player and spray lead everywhere. One who is playing for survival whilst everyone around is running madly to the cities unarmed and looking for a weapon then popping off shots at anyone within distance or endlessly teleporting military spots to aqquire.

More than likely a lot of these types of players do not frequent the forums as they do not feel the need, they know what they are doing and what they have set for themselves within the game and the forum offers nothing for them. They do not grief, they know how the game works insofar as glitches so they avoid them as much as they can, they know how to take out zeds, how to last, how to observe and not be seen. Watching the chaos around them smile bemusedly.

These players are enjoying the esperience, lazily visiting towns and other places of interest ..death always lurking at their shoulder.

Its like the old fighter pilots saying...hours and hours of boredom with split seconds of sheer terror and andrenaline.

You're getting trolled the hardest. A monumental amount of effort only to "exist" in a game. How is that not being trolled?
