sethcombs@gmail.com 11 Posted July 24, 2012 Does anyone have or know of a good guide for optimizing video settings for DayZ, specifically one that's aimed at lower-end PCs? I'm currently saving up to buy a nice, new gaming rig but in the meantime I want to make my game as smooth and as playable as possible. I know I can't be the only one that's not playing this game on a badass gaming rig and I've spent quite a bit of time tweaking the various video settings. But, I can't seem to find the best setup and was hoping you guys could help out.I've looked at several DayZ video configuration guides but most (if not all) of the ones I have seen are designed to optimize machines that run the game on really high settings. Thanks in advance guys! dcskill 117 Posted July 24, 2012 First thing you want to do is go to advanced settings and tweak around with a few settings.Vsync = offAbufilter = lowAntialiasing = lowobject detail = lowshadows = offpost process = low/offThen you want to tweak your resolution (both the 3d and the interface)Try and put your interface resolution at 1024x720 and your 3d on a lower resolution for example, 980x650 (just an example)

sethcombs@gmail.com 11 Posted July 25, 2012 It's a laptop that's ~2yr old. I always make sure the power supply is plugged in so it won't run off of the battery. But, the main specs are:GeForce 310M (drivers are up to date)Intel Core i3 @2.27ghz running Win7 64-bit4gb RAM450gb HDDI've set most things to low and/or disabled but I have read a couple of places that setting video memory to low rather than normal actually results in decreased performance, though I'm not sure how true that is. Forgewolf 70 Posted September 3, 2012 I will have to try this. I don't understand why I'd need to do this with my Radeon 5000 series graphic's card.. but sometimes the performance of the gameplay slows down the FPS.
