Weapons in DayZ

Ok, so someone care to explain a few things to me? I have had this weird thing happen a few times now. I picked up an l85AWS from a player that I killed, it vanished... I found one at a chopper, it vanished too. I found a SVD Camo, it is ALSO now gone out of my inventory, and no not my bag so no one can say it was stolen. this game is eating guns and it makes no sense, I want to know why and how to fix this. (I had that SVD for quite a long time, so it wasn't a desync issue.)

ALSO is there a way that I can get that gun back without having to go bang my head against a wall again? I mean its pretty obvious if any of the dev's check the logs I had that gun.

Did you log out after found these items? L85 shouldn't be ingame anymore so it might vanish for that.

No one can reset your Character. Have you been wearing a Ghillie suit recently? Or logged out too soon after getting the guns, If so that can reset your Character back to the save just before you picked up the gun.

But it sounds like to me you want a spawned weapon...

sounds to you like I want a spawned weapon... cute assumption, how quickly did you roll out your jump to conclusions mat on that one?

Actually I had that SVD for about 24 hours, I logged in today STILL had that SVD Camo... I killed a player with it and looted his corpse. I had to log to do some running around, and I come back and the SVD Camo is gone. I check my backpack, and the most recent L85AWS (the one I found last night at the chopper) is still there, my pistol is still there, everything is still there EVEN the SVD ammo, just not the gun. I checked my backpack a little more thoroughly and I found a Makarov PM in there, I dont know if this has anything to do with my SVD Camo vanishing but I figured I would put all of the information in there. ALSO when I logged back in I was in the EXACT same spot I logged out it, and I still had a broken leg. These things alone tell me my character didn't get rolled back, my gun just took a hike.

I believe the L85AWS is back in the game now, it's spawning at choppers and such. (oh and that didn't vanish... yet...)

nah, the guy didnt have jack on him. I shot him for his morphine... which he didnt even have that :\ (so I didnt take anything from him.)

it's like the gun was deleted, I just logged in to empty primary, and a secondary in hand.

Edit: Scratch that, I took a STANAG mag from his corpse.
