Why are people logging out whilst dead?

Recommended Posts

How is this even possible? I mean I can understand people logging out if you scare them, but wouldn't it be really easy to code so that when a player has been shot and fainted he cannot log out?

the player is closing the game and thus closing their connection to the server and when rocket tried to have a timed copy caused some possible duping where players would log in and out to get copies of their loot.

Upcoming patch is dealing a bit with this. We'll have logout delay of 5 seconds. Your character will stay ingame for 5 seconds even if connection is dropped. Another thing - now every login and logoff fact is recorded to DayZ database. It will be then analyzed by the developers and a new algorithm will be implemented to suppress this exploiting and DC abuse.

Do you mean dead or unconscious?

Dead is when I am most likely to log out. If my laundry is waiting or I have to use the WC, what better time?

If you mean while unconscious (green hourglass), it certainly accomplishes nothing.

I haven't checked the stats before, but people subscribed to the forums are a small percentage of total players.

Maybe they think that the sloooooow hourglass means they are dead or they see their health so low that they know that if they recover the multitude of odd animations that their character goes through before they can run will result in another bout of unconsciousness or death.

I'm not a scientist with a lot of books, but thats what I think.

People are afraid to die because they don't want to lose the stuff they worked on getting. You can say only new people does such things.

But everyone will die eventually... for me, I got tired of running away from death. I ultimately dumped myself into helping all the strangers I see. It was better than hiding and killing to spare your own life IMO, even if you do get killed and betrayed.
