Calling for backup with friends in-game?

Recommended Posts

So lately i have been wondering, do a lot of you have friends or people you know on the servers you play on, or are you pretty much playing alone?

Earlier i was on my way out of Cherno, when a guy came running up to me and shot at me, just for me to shoot him and kill him. It didn't take more than 5 minutes, before i noticed around 2-3 players starting to run around the building i was in. Im wondering if these guys were teamed up, and if a lot of people actually do this?

I havn't found anyone to play with, but i would like to know if there actually is quite a few people on the servers that are playing bandits together?

If you have a group of real life mates that play or you were in a clan previously, you can still use Teamspeak or Ventrillo to communicate.

In fact that's what we do.

You do come across groups playing together. Other clans , or friends on skype etc. Or random players teaming up. Me personally i like to play alone or with my best mate.

I see. My first impression was that the majority were actually playing alone, but i guess that is what also made me vulnerable, at the most critical time. Maybe it's not a bad idea to find someone to team up with, just a friend or two. That way i may not be as vulnurable when it happens, and I may not be outnumbered and gunned down like i was ^^

Most groups you come across will be communicating and scheming on external voice programs.

Most of them are hostile to strangers, at the moment it's very hard to meet new people and team up.

I don't want to be a part of the whole "shoot on sight" mentality, so i guess i should just steer clear of people from now on. Kind of an eye opener that groups were actually common. (I am somewhat new to the mod)

I play with a clan of about 20 people + another clan we've agree'd to play with so there's prolly close to 30+

I have a group of real life friends who I play with. We have a team of five. We all use Skype to keep in contact whilst we are playing. We normally walk around as a group, loot together, heal each other etc.

Ventrillo or Teamspeak is commonly used but we're not in the position to be able to host a server. Skype is good enough to use though, although sometimes the connection is iffy.

Maybe you could show some of your friends about DayZ and ask them if they'd like to buy the game? It is much more fun playing with friends, I played for about 3 days by myself and already grew very bored of the game. But I've now been playing for about 2 weeks with friends and don't plan to stop.

Thanks for the replies, really helped my understanding of the game :)
