Infection withou anycontact or rain ?

Hey guys,

got a litlle problem yesterday. I was fighting at the north-west airfield alone against some zombies.

my heat was 42° and i can sure can tell that there were no other players. They would have killed me :D

But now my char starts coughing and i am ages away from any hospital.

Can i really get an infection by chance ?

hate it...dont wanna die ....

I'd suggest waiting, and if it doesn't go away, put your gear somewhere safe and respawn. I always check hospitals when I'm near a city, but I've never found any.

I've been "infected" twice.

The first time I was on a boat without heatpacks for a really long time. Between that and fumbling around in the water to refuel it, I got down to 29*. I was coughing and losing health. After getting heated up, I was still coughing, but after a couple hours of game play, the cough just disappeared. I was able to get to 12000 health again, and everything seemed normal.

Weeks passed, multiple deaths, etc.

The second time, I have no idea how I got it (42*, running around looking for heli crash sites with no luck, no other players/zombies near). I waited for a while, but it didn't go away. So I just put everything in the car and respawned.

There is a chance to become infected if a Z hits you while bleeding, no matter your temp.

I think the last reply fits extactly. One of these zombies got me bleeding...damn..

luckely i saved everthing and i now gonna respawn...

I've never been infected, but I've found antibiotics several times. Check the army tents at Cherno. I found 2x in one of the medical tents.

Why does everyone think antibiotics are rare? Sure, uncommon, but I tend to find them on about 1/3 to 1/4 of my hospital/medtent visits. I even got 3 in one trip. Admittedly I tend to play lower pop servers. They are less juicy targets for hackers.
