Ok or not ok?

I find my self switching servers a lot to find one in a timezone during the day time and one that also has the 3rd person enabled, so it made me wonder if server hoping like that was allowed.

as long as its not for loot, however I don't see why you need to do such a thing when you have tools like flares,chemlights, and you spawn with a flashlight.

alright good, I have read a couple posts about people hopping to avoid being killed and I only hoped that my switching wouldn't be mistaken for that.

And all three of those tools scream "Kill me!" to any nearby players lol. I play almost exclusively on night time servers because I enjoy the extra challenge, but there have definitely been a lot of times where I've been killed for trying to use a light haha. I can see why he'd want to make sure he's on a day time server.

OP, there's nothing wrong with that. However, the next patch will track how many times you connect and disconnect and will stop you from switching too much, so try to find a couple of servers you like and memorize the names of them to reduce the amount of times you hop servers.

I downloaded DayZ Commander today. There's a stickied thread on the subject, I just don't know how to do links. So far I really like it. You can filter day/night servers and the various server settings.

In case you ever read this thread again, try out Dayz Commander, it's a program a person named Dotjosh on these forums created and it is a launcher for Dayz. It only shows Dayz servers and allows you to filter servers with things like "I want it to be daytime and have 3rd person enabled".
