Servers with separate character data?

Recommended Posts

So I've been playing on ANZ 7 and 8 a lot lately since they don't seem to sync with the NZ/US servers so I can play a new character worry-free while still keeping my geared up main character.

I'd like to note that this isn't down to being afraid to die, although of course I'd like to avoid it. I managed to get some good gear without necessarily being that good at the game (lucky breaks and staying the hell out of towns) and wanted to practice PVP and general game mechanic usage.

However, the big reason I don't want to play my main character right now is not fearing death from other players, but hackers. It seems everyone I know that plays on a NZ/AUS server with any kind of regularity has been affected/around/killed by/or looted by a hacker on a very alarmingly rapid scale as of late, and I've seen enough evidence myself to not want to play.

ANZ 7 and 8 went down a couple of hours ago and when it got back up the character data was synced and I was back on my main character. Disappointment...

Are there any other known servers where you can start a fresh/unconnected character without losing another character's server-synced data?

Look for something like "Private database" in the server's name. As suggested, the server uses a private database for characters.
