I have actually recently started using DayZ Commander instead of SixLauncher and Steam and it's amazing.

DayZ Commander not only works much better and faster but it's less of a resource hog than SixLauncher and it has a beautiful interface.

I tried both and got nowhere. I could get further to accessing a server before being kicked when I downloaded commander. However, after downloading and installing day z and six launcher and commander for about the 40th time, I just tried it earlier today and it worked!

I lasted maybe I dunno a couple of hours with no weapon and no water. My desperate need for water drove me closer to the zombies and one of those rotten swines with the beret got me. I'm over the moon! And then I went right back in and lasted about ten minutes while the very same type of zombie chased me up a hill and down the same hill before it caught me. I must work out how to swing an axe! :D

I forgot to say:The only difference was something called eagle-eye? popped up and said it was reinstalling itself. Other than that I don't know why I haven't been able to access the game over the passed three or more weeks. Happy ending though. :)

erikmg you need to copy the Addons folder from the Arma 2 Folder into the Operation Arrowhead folder.

Wow, this worked! I can finally play this game, thanks man. Amazingly, every guide I've read failed to mention this one detail.

I followed these instructions to the letter but when I try to boot up arma 2 combined operations I get an error right before it normally displays bohemia interactive the game closes down and a windows error bubble pops up that says "Error creating Direct3D 9 Graphical engine"

edit: tried running as administrator now i don't even get the popup but the same thing happens

Did you copy the exe from the expansion\beta folder over the other?

This is not easier than using 6updater or even better than 6updater DayzCommander. Great thread but ultimately makes for a much more difficult approach to keeping your game up to date. I think you should be giving ME your beans.

Got to the point when I needed to run the Beta install. I get "Wrong CD key" message. I own the game on steam... so yah. What now?

Can someone please for damn sake explain the directory just so I can make sure I have it correctly for NON STEAM. NOT USING STEAM. Also, windows 7.
