Makeshift Suppressors.

If you have ever played Max Payne 3; then you know that at one point Max duct tapes a plastic water bottle to the barrel of his pistol. What if we could use this same idea in the game?

Just find an empty plastic bottle and some tape. And there you go! A makeshift suppressor is at your disposal. Now just like in the other game; this commodity will NOT last forever. You can only get off a few shots--say like 5 shots max; before the bottle is totals useless. And it can only be attached to smaller caliber handguns.

What say you to this?

and also they will double up as a nice soft seat/pillow to lay your head down

It's possible. Unless all of David Morrell's hours of research are wrong. I read I believe "Brotherhood of the Rose" by David Morrell where they used this same tactic. I only heard it was good for 2 or 3 shots but meh.

I don't blame you for not bothering with the search, that thread is a couple months old. Even predates me being a mod. I just thought that the similarities were striking.

Secondly, to me, there are enough silenced weapons in the game.

Currently supressed weapons require matching ammunition of the SD variant.

Just did a couple of minutes cursory research on this and it seems you can muffle the sound of a gunshot with a plastic bottle filled with newspaper securely taped to the barrel, but the shot will NEVER go where you are aiming due to passing through the plastic. Also it would only work once.

So yeah, nice thought i guess but impractical and not really worth implimenting when there are already silenced weapons available.

But those are still hard to find and can be used for as long as you live... These are just quick and expendable commodities. Finding duct tape could be a little challenging. But bottles could be plentiful. .

There is "SD" ammo in the game that works with supressed weapons such as the MP5SD6 and M9 SD.
