Tons of tents on server

I played about three hours yesterday and found around 10 tents, most of them in the southern region less than 3km from the coastline. Some with good loot some without....some were bugged ( two or three sticking next to eachother ).

Is every tent a players tent or are tents also spawned? A few weeks ago i found a tent on Green Mountain filled with an AS50 and ammo, a ghille, backpack, lots of food,drinks and medical equipment, whoever might have left it there must have been really angry when he/she came back. I can't seem to understand why some players "hide" their tents in easy accesible places and fill them with high class loot ( such as a M107 with magazines, vehicles parts etc. ) Of course i didn't take the M107...i "feed" my backpack like i always do when i find some high class weapons and can't take them with me. :D
