digital0 22 Posted July 23, 2012 I understand where Cooky is coming from.I think the coolest thing about indie games is that information don't have to go through community managers and project leaders. And even if we're in alpha stage and this mod has more holes than a swiss cheese it's fantastic to see the dev engaging with his community. I would have never rented a server if it wasn't for all rocket's posts where you can read about his view and mindset for the mod.But then again Cooky. Patience. Rome wasn't build in a day. At least some people here can see what I'm talking about.When you say you're "very disappointed" in someone who has basically been busting his ass into the ground day-in day-out to provide you completely free entertainment in the form of one of the greatest and most innovative gaming experiences to hit the market in the last 15 years, you come off as an entitled, childish ass.That is why you are getting abuse.If you're interested in having a productive, informative discussion then you need to approach things with a modicum of humility and freely admit that you actually have no concept what a reasonable update schedule would be for a mod like this given the size of the team.When rocket released 1.7.1 and had to hotfix up to 1.7.1.5 people went absolutely batshit insane accusing him of being sloppy and breaking the game.Now that he is taking his time, being more careful, and trying to address some of the major issues instead of minor ones, he has to listen to jagoffs like you tell him he has "abandoned" the mod somehow or is letting us down?I mean, I hate to be harsh (just kidding I love it) but if you don't want abuse then don't act like a jackass. Cooky1809 0 Posted July 23, 2012 I think some people are reading it wrong (my fault for being very simplistic)The topic was about how disappointed I was with the whole of DayZ not being updated as much and not alot of communication. NOT for how much effort has been put into it. Rocket and his team has put in a ridiculous amount of time and deserves alot more praise. Also its free (well I had to buy Arma2 an I bet 80% of the people here did not have it lol) so of course I can see why people are 'trying to abuse me' and I accept that. Thanks JaysonX and all the others for atleast understanding where I am coming from. Keep up the hard work Rocket, Sorry for being disappointed as I should know better. derailed000 20 Posted July 24, 2012 What you probably should learn is that is takes a matter of time to correct bugs and issues in the code so that whiners like you can enjoy playing the mod. I dont think that the team have the time to spend on holding your hand every day. I dont get it some people whine because patches and fixes are released to often and this guy says not frequently enough. Like come on either play the damn thing or dont........beans to everyone. It got updated every 4 to 5 days and Rocket and all the others would keep in touch with the small community. Now, it takes weeks for new updates and hardly any responses. I thought this was something different (not just the game itself but the people behind making it) and while the game is still fun and great it just seems to be going like most big companies. I know its hard work Rocket but you have got to stick with why the mod was so different and enjoyable.Well its a mod, I'm sure if Rocket was being paid to support it full time he would gladly keep everyone regularly appraised. After getting home from work, mentally and physically exhausted, the last thing you want to do is more work.Plus it probably isn't that rewarding since Bohemia are really the only ones who reap the profits.
