Omg do i really need to explain it. Ok i dont know how long you play Dayz but in the early days of dayz if you wanted to join a server you waited like 30 min before you could play lot of issues were because of Arma netcode.And that's what they are fixing Arma netcode. Dayz is still just Arma multiplayer that works on Arma netcode so if they fixing that they are fixing dayz. Another example are players ID some players couldn't play dayz because bad player ID that also fix Beta. Or Rocket wanted global chat out again beat. Only thin i know about weapon fixin are issues in Dayz like if you log out with almost empty clip and log back again you would have full clip and another similar stuff. I don't know what else could they they fix on weapons as normal arma multiplayer were fix long time ago.

Oh in the last like two beta patches there were some other fixes because they going to release new DLC so they fixing some things but still there were a lot of patches with multiplayer fixes. And whitout dayz there wouldn't be because normal Arma multiplayer worked fine and was fixed before. A lot of new problems occurred with dayz....

You boviously don't read the logs. I don't see mention of DayZ anywhere. I understand they are modifying the base code, but i don't see many things (if any) pertaining directly to DayZ. My clips still regen to this day. I get it, they are making progress, but I see minimal changes with these Betas. I see huge changes with DayZ updates.

I don't expect Bohemia to drop Arma II updates and work on DayZ 24/7. But I want to know whats happening! All of us do. We want details! What is Bohemia focusing on? How are they helping this mod? What are they doing with BattleEye? What are they doing to thwart hackers? Is it just me or does it seem that Rocket and his team are the only ones in this?

You really think there going to write in their log thing like This fix is for Dayz ? No they are fixing multiplayer ( netcode) and that benefit dayz it benefit Arma multiplayer to a certain extend but the reason is Dayz. And if you are listening to interviews with Rocket you know that he want to add underground and i can tell you that they have to make big changes in Arma engine for that.

Did you even read what i wrote earlier? Things like you don't wait 30 min to join server, bad players id, global chat.. there were more changes but thats what i can think right now. There were huge problem with dayz because of Amra netcode a lot of them were fix thanks to beta patches .And many Days patches came right after Beta patches. Why?Because without changes that are making beta patches a lot of things that are in dayz patches couldn't work..

Thats kind of the point. Why the hell not? more than 700% increase in sales due to this mod. I understand that the "netcode" is full of jargon based on the coding of the game, but it would be nice to know what "Fixed: terrainIntersect reverted to ATL" means, and how this affects the game. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but I'd like get a better understanding of the partnership between Rocket and Bohemia. Thats all

Why did you make it black? oh well. They could write what fixes are for dayz but personally i don't see the point as beta patches before dayz stop coming because BI were finishing Arma 3 and after Dayz they started making beta patches agian for it so i imagine that most of the stuff that they fix is for dayz.

I cant help you with "Fixed: terrainIntersect reverted to ATL".

And partnership between Rocket and Bohemia? can't help you with that either we all know he's their employee thats all.

I'm assuming that you are wondering why BI is so vague, for a lack of a better word, in their patch notes.

In a recent interview Rocket said that the main reason BI is pushing out patches is to stop scripts being used in multiplayer (or 'hacking' as everyone keeps calling..), or something like that, and the main reason why they don't publish full logs of what they changed is because that would be counterproductive.

It's like putting up a new burglar alarm and then making a website that tells everyone exactly what they put up, where the motion sensors are, how the cameras work, etc.

In my opinion, BI has been doing a pretty decent job lately. At least they are doing something and working with Rocket and others to keep the 'hackers' at bay.

The amount of money they have made from sales in the past 3 months, they can hire as many people as they need to work on this project. Again, chances are they are sticking with a smaller team and holding out because they want to maximize profits. It makes perfect business sense and in the long run benefit the studio. Don't always rely on soundbites from interviews either. With large money making projects like this there's always more often than not someone higher up the chain pulling the strings regardless of if it's someones personal project.

This makes me lol.

If BI was all about the easy money they wouldn't have stuck with a niche product like OFP/ArmA. This thing about comspiracy theories is you are not required to be connected to reality as all, you can just pull thought up facts out of your ass.

I agree, i never said that they are doing amazing job fixing all problems that's not even possible. But i know that they are finishing two games plus one DLC right now and that they are small studio so i think they do decent job...

A decent job, sure. But again, they are sitting on a gold mine. Why not bump that decent job up to "excellent job" with some fan funding, and make some extra profit to boot? I'm simply stating that I am willing to pay for a better product that is delivered faster. I think many people agree with me.

In terms of thwarting off hackers, I'm not sure its working. Killed one last night, only to get killed by the same one 3 min later. Ghille and AS50, no bag on the body, couldnt loot it or hide it.

What the fudge? Why is it black? lol

Has anyone noticed when you bold things in the forum it acts super erratically and the cursor jumps around?

Rocket has already stated to the throw-money-at-shit-to-magically-fix-everything-instantly crowd, he required patience rather than money. I think the words were: "I don't need all your money, but if you want to support the mod, buy BI games, because they already pay my salery." Look where that got him, he's working on his off-time project on BI's clock. He's created his own job at BI and will be working there long time after his contract working on ArmA3 runs out. He'll most likely be lead designer/dev, which might be acompanies by a nice pay raise, however money can't buy wont most creative people demands the most, which is creative control. He'll probably also stand as author of the DayZ standalone and benefit from every single sold copy. He'll also be able to put down DayZ on his resurme, as the creator of the most innovative piece of PC gaming in 2012, which will open other oppotunities in the future.

Lots of awesome points here, but lets get one thing straight. Arma II, a finished Bohemia product, is a cool game, but not THAT polished and clean. Its not that I don't have faith. It's not that I think that Rocket and Bohemia CANT do it. And I am certainly not saying throw money at it and fix it. BUT, I'm sure Bohemia and Rocket have inboxes full of resumes. I'm sure they could reach out to amazing coders and designers and get help. The Hive needs work. The entire infrastructure needs work, and maybe, just maybe, a game of this scope is too much for a small developer like Bohemia to handle on their own. I hope they don't take that the wrong way... I believe in them, but would hiring extremely qualified people to help them get a "final"ish product sooner be such a bad thing?

Maybe I'm just impatient want it now... lol.

PS. What the fudge is "War Z"?..

There were alot of topic on hacking so if you want to talk about that you be better there, but as far as i know hacking is too easy in Arma because it's very open game to mods that's why it can be easily hacked or you can using scripts in multiplayer. It's ironic, Rocket made Dayz because Arma is easily modded but hackers thank to that can easily hack in the game. It never really was an issue before dayz as nobody hacked in normal Arma multiplayer.

I'm not going to write in detail about that but BI makes mil. sim games over 11 years and i'm glad they do as they are one of the last one. Yes theyr games so far looks like they need little bit of work but what i seen from Arma 3 looks like it going to be really polished and they added lot of feature that were missing from arma like physic. About the people who want to work for bohemia i wrote something about that before in this topic.

I just listened to the latest interview with Rocket on the news feed. It's cleared up a lot about how I feel about this matter. Bohemia is working much more closely with Rocket than I thought. Apparently, the CEO of Bohemia was the motion capture guy :) That's awesome.

I suppose my thread was written due to frustration regarding the lack of anything, well, official. That's a word you don't hear when building a mod, nothing is really "official". In any case, I'm still enjoying the game play very much. I've noticed a huge reduction in the cheaters and scripts run in servers. I left my notes on the 10.7.2.3 post regarding new bugs and issues.

We all have our opinions and suggestions and mine stemmed from a growing impatience. We all want things now. Standalone now. Zombies fixed now. Helicopters now. But now I realize that this is going to be a long term project that will evolve into a masterpiece.
