Generators - Allow us to power Chernarus!

I like it, as I would love to light up Elecktro and watch people fall in to a death trap.

Well, I'm not so sure it would work with cities, as most cities can't be entirely powered on one generator. But, perhaps a building or 2.

Maybe multiple generators, hospitals are required to have a back up generator.

That post is about powering large areas of the map. I'd rather just have places, that would have a generator, such as airfields or hospitals. I believe there are enough differences to warrant a new thread.

If you would do this realisticly, and you really wanna refuel these generators with "jerrycans", you would realisticly get 3-4 minutes of power after a week of running back-and-forward with a bag full of jerrycans.

I'm no zombie apocalypse expert, but the reason why you would wanna attract all the zombies in a 2000km2 square by doing so is something you'll need to enlighten me about

If you read closer it talked about multiple types of generators, as in power plants, town generators, and portable generators.

I'd like to see generators being very rare, but they can

  • Power a limited area of a grid.
  • This powered area will turn on certain facilites* dependant on where the generator is hooked up
  • The generator has to be topped up with fuel to continue running; it can be turned off or on.

This would make them key items for clans /groups to fight over control. It would let group x thrive a little easier in their chosen area and give group y an added incentive to either raid group x or try to run them out of their patch.

Supply lines from the fuel source to the area using the generator would also be ample territory for ambush etc

Possibly, increase the chance of a random horde of whatever amount of zombies being attracted to the area, making the planning/defensive side of holding an area with a generator important.

* What these facilities add to the area is a matter of debate and open for ideas.

I've actually seen a hacker hack one in but it dosn't do anything.. i killed the hacker and tried to pick it up it was weird.

Theyve already been announced havnt they? They are coming, just think of different ideas to use them for XD
