I've gotten to the point where I have everything I want an losing it would suck so I dont take risks. Most of the fun is gathering the gear. I just want to start fresh. If I give away my gear I'll be forced to go find new stuff.

I'd really like the gear. I'll be online. I had a ghillie, AS50, NVG, range finders, all kinds of good stuff until a hacker killed me and hid my body last night. Now I'm back to nothing and I really never got to use the stuff because I had just looted it a day before this happened. :(

I know how the OP feels.. i play solo, have everything i could want, a stream of different top grade weapons.. Since i've had my L85A2 AWS I feel a pahse of thegame has passed, now i need another challenge. Not quite sure what to do with my character.. think i'll become a solo bandit hunter.

I can imagine you being bored, i'm not sure starting over would fix this for you. Especially if you still have a large camp to reequip from. You might want to consider just taking a break for a while untill further content is added. Im pretty sure Rocket knows that the endgame atm is a bit lacking. Especially with helicopters out of the picture which was always a great aspiring to goal.

This is the exact reason there needs to be durability on everything. Items need to degrade until they are unusable and have to be scrapped. This should be with everything from night vision to backpacks. Obviously things will degrade at different rates and have different reasons for breaking. IE NVGs getting wet or battery leaking, backpacks tearing from zombie attacks. Perhaps some items that are broke can be converted into scrap metal or used for parts for other items.

Starting fresh on the beach is exactly what I need. I always enjoy the struggle and the hunt. I will not be heading back to camp to rearm. That would completely defeat the purpose of this exercise. If through this I give a new player a chance to experience some top tier loot I'll be even happier.

I can understand the whole "I'm so kitted out that I don't dare take any risks" issue... but seriously, why not stash your stuff in a tent in the absolute middle of nowhere, and just run down to the coast with only your flashlight? That way, you have the option of changing your mind and reclaiming your gear at a later date...
