A few simple questions.

ive been playin dayz for a bit and i still dont know how to throw smoke nades or actual nades. I also dont know how to make map points. Is it pointless with out a map? Also is there a easier way to meet up with friends you want to play with? I tryed using goggle to find these but no luck. Im sure these are questions other ppl would like to know.

When you log in, the bottom right is your location so run to where your friends are at, should take no longer then 15 minutes if your near each other and to use nades, click F.

For anything throwable, I believe you have to cycle through your weapons using the F key.

I don't think you can set way points without a map. Once you have a map find the spot you want to mark and hold shift then left click.

Only way to find friends is the hard way. Looking at landmarks and trying to run to each other.

Also can you not give blood to yourself?

Food and Cooked meat give you blood, but a Blood Pack or Morphine, you need another player to give it to you.

there are two ways to mark a map.

- one gives you a waypoint on some servers that allow it.

- the other you need to be carefull, it marks the map with a black circles X which you can then type somthing...... Other players can see that mark, advise against it unless marking a camping group of bandits or campsites.
