7FPS? Killer PC? Want playable Frames?READ!

Recommended Posts

Pfff Having some issues? Reading all the optimizing guides? And you only got 10 frames back?!

Read this! I got the same problem until now. In Singleplayer I play maxed out with 50-60 FPS, but DayZ 12-20 (Varies per server)

What I did? Simple.

Go to you're arma2OAprofile. Mostly located it in My Documents.

And find this line ( Control+F )

sceneComplexity=150000;

if you make it Lower, Like 75000 or 100000 it will load items, buildings grass tree's who are 75000 close to you. Instead of 150.000. You should tweak the value's until its perfect for you.

If you enter a too low value, other players can only apear from short distances, and that sucks. I find my self playing a good enough 20-30 frames.

I know its all a server sided problem the lagg, but this helped for me.

Rocket Please fix the optimizing :(

Feedback would be nice, comment so other players with issue's see this thread!

Players will always render at the same distance no matter the setting. This setting only alters object render distance, such as buildings, trees, grass etc. I dont recommend anything lower then 150000, if you go lower then this, you wont be able to look into intrances/windows of buildings that are 100-200 meters away from you, unless you use the zoom function.

I was on top of the outer firedepot tower of electro, and I could see all the buildings 'til the port. And I got 15+ FPS.

Not with 150000. I did extensive testing with this when i was doing config tweaks, and i used the high tower in cherno(in the middle of the factory area) as a point of testing, and i found that below 150000 i was not able to look into the windows and intrances of the apartments that is straight south if the tower(the ones at the belltower) and those were 100-150 meters away

EDIT: Mind you that yes, you can see all the buildings. But they are low resolution, like i said in my first post, anything below 150000 will remove the ability to see what is happening INSIDE the buildings if they have windows or doorways, so long the building is more then 100 meters away

Rocket can't do much about the optimization of ARMA's engine.

But. Im getting a smooth 50 FPS on max graphics + 10k view distance.

so what its low-reso? its bout the gameplay mate, and I don't care If I can't see all the bricks perfectly from a house which is 300 meters away from me, it solved all my lagg isues and I can play normally. Sometimes you should not care about the quality for one time. And if you use the zoom/binoculars u can easily look into a window.

The mod and DayZ servers locks the view distance to 500, so it doesnt matter that you have 10k in options, it has no effect.

Yes, i completely agree. I also lowered a whole ton of options to get better framerate. But for me, its important that i am able to see and shoot back at people that are within a reasonable distance, when they are inside buildings. For some this might matter aswell, which is why i am warning people that less then 150000 will make that very difficult.

I totally agree. But playing with 10 frames is harder. and 100.000 is a reasonable value mate. but yes if you would use this, your sight is limited on buildings and the other player may have an upperhand on the battle

I want source on that. Because if I set my view distance to 500, then to 10'000, I can see notably further off in the distance.

Rocket stated it several times, Id gladly record a video of me changing the view distance and not having any difference.

EDIT: Sorry, i meant about 1000. Not 500

Well you haven't provided me with a source, so go ahead. I'll stand by what I said until I'm proven wrong.

View distance is set server side and cannot be defeated and is nothing new. This has been throughout all of ArmA's existence.

My profile was set at 500000 scene complexity, I remember tinkering with it before but not knowing what it did.

What sort of changes can I expect now that I set it to 100000? and what's the suggest number to set it to, I want to be able to see people in buildings from 100m away or so.

I have an AMD phenom II X6 1045T black edition if that helps, I'm also using RAMDISK and using that to run my @DayZ folder and the Buildings.pbo/buildings2.pbo & structures.pbo from the main directory to attempt to make things load faster. I have 8GB ram and using 1GB for the ramdisk.

I get anywhere from 35-90 out of town and in forrests, but as soon as I hit a city like cherno, I'd go to 20 fps and that would slowly degrade until it hit 12 fps. relogging would solve the problem briefly for about 30 minutes before reaching the minimum fps again.

I want to try get a sustainable fps of atleast 30 in cherno to be able to play comfortabely, any idea how to achieve it?

P.S GPU is a ATI Raedon HD 5700 series.

I wouldnt go lower then 150000 if you want to see people in buildings 80-150 meters away, without having to zoom. Going lower then 100000 and you wont be able to see into buildings that are 80-100 meters away even while zooming.

Well I was previously playing on 500000 complexity, I have not logged in to check yet because I'm in cherno and I'm scared to die xD so I'm just wondering what sort of results am I going to get having changed the complexity? will it solve my fps problem in the cities a little or what?

You should gain 10-20 fps in the cities, right now its hard to really say because object cleanup is bugged, so the framerate depends on how many people are dead in the city, how many zombies are frozen, how long the server has been running etc.

Yeah my main issue is basicly object cleanup, I guess that's why relogging briefly helps the issue.

Thanks for the advice and stuff!

Yes it is true. You cannot set a view distance greater than what is set on the server. You can turn it down lower, but you can't set higher than what the server has it as.

Mate you just went full retard. Never go full retard.. We weren't talkin about bloody view distance man, jezus learn to read before to speak? trying to get ur postcount up?-__-

Edit : for you folks out there who never had an english book infront of their noses :

What I tryin' to tell is :

Changing sceneComplexity=150000; to a lower value like 100.000, has nothing to do with "changing view distance"

Please, Please read before going into full retard mode
