Disconnect (again) ... From the aggressor?!?

So, I was raiding the NE airfield alone, at night, with my nightvision goggles.

From the hangars to the main building, just a few zeds, no problem, no one. Clear.

I found a Kobra, go up the tower, a quick look around and going for the ladder... BANGBANGBANG. Bullets whizz around. Panick move, jump to the ground and waiting. I've been hit and I'm bleeding. I crawl inside, bandage myself up... And look all around. 360, nothing. Nothing going away, noting approaching...

Around 15 minutes of camping owerwatch mode... I head out. Crawling, crouching, listening. Nothing.

The only possibility is that idiot wasted bullets on me and, seeing he hadn't downed me in the first shot, couldn't handle the situation and disconnected!

GROW SOME BALLS. I've had my heart pounding, and my life at 7.7K. I've stayed in the tower for a "long" time. Nothing happened.

Yeah, that's eventually what I've been thinking. A hopper that sees a target, but the area is "Hot" so he leaves. Well, i was still surprised to have someone raging/leaving while having the upper hand.
