Hello and help me!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

Well, I've been watching DayZ videos on youtube for a few days, and every one of them just sucked me into the game more and more - without me even playing for one second!

So I finally bought Arma 2 CO yesterday (thank you Steam and -40%).

I thought I got it all figured out from watching the videos. Get some food, additional medicine, some tools and a weapon and you're all set for upgrading your gear. Not so much. First time spawned in a city with a port and huge cranes. Forgot to read info at the begining where I was, so maybe someone will recognize this place. I learned my first lesson in about 3-4 minutes. Don't climb on roofs if you are not 100% sure there is an alternative way down. Zombies saw me, a pair of crawlers so they didn't climb the ladder, but I couldn't get down. Only way was jumping from the roof, but that got me killed after bleeding out while 4-5 zombies surrounded me.

Next time i spawned in Electro. Alone. Went into town and imidiately decided to get the hell out. I somehow lived, ran through 2 forrests and ended up killing 4 zombies with a hatchet, getting into some kind of factory who-knows-where, finding a bunch of scrap metal, car windows and tyres. Found 2 DMR mags, 1 Makarov mag and some kind of M16 without ammo. Got disconnected from server and it's back to beginning.

Now I really need some guidance. Where to go after starting, what to do? I'm all alone in that cruel world, have no friends that are interested in playing, so I am my only hope.

Well, unless you guys help me a bit with some good tips and advices!

Hit respawn till it says Chernogorsk, night time is best. Walk around the north side (opposite the water) you will see 5 appartment buildings on the north side with a hospital. Crawl in there and loot. Usually has everything you need to start. If not there is a firehouse and a supermarket SW of there through the factories that are right across the street to the south.

Night time is better and crawl or crouch/walk. Helps keep zombies from noticing you.

Loot up, enjoy!

SW means facing the water with it being slightly on your left Incase you arent good without a compass.
