Death Match Mode?

so i just logged into us server 61 NY2 and as soon as i spawned i got teleported to an area with a bunch of people and somebody just started shooting us and everybody ran...and i was shot....i am moderately confused as to what just happened....(i ran and hid too, then left for 5 min, came back and i was moved to be with a couple other people and was shot with those people)...so is somebody hacking? or is the server just messed up? there wasn't many people on it, only about 10

EDIT: actually, it wasn't that server...i think, i just logged into it and was playing it fine, but i logged onto some us server and this happened to me
