aTypicalGamer 1 Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) Just sharing a few tips and reminders, if you are lagging in DayZ or having performance issues.Get Game Booster or Advanced System Care and use the performance boost.Turn off all unnecessary background applications.Turn off Windows Theme aero theme, and change it to Windows Classic, or Basic. (Both are ugly but take up less memory)To change theme, right click your desktop, Personilization, change theme. The most important part, this is a huge booster, brought me from 30 to 60 fps. Get ingame, turn off six launcher, then go to Task Manager, and TURN OFF EXPLORER.EXE. This is a huge boost. It will turn off your whole background desktop proccess. Not to worry, if you want to start it up again. Click New Task. Type in explorer.exe and hit enter. And lastly make sure your graphics are all on low or disabled, and if you have a 1980x1080 screen, turn the resolution down to 1680. It will still look pretty great, and the performance boost will be noticable. Even on lowest graphics this game still looks pretty damn good, so you won't be missing out. Plus all these tweaks might give you enough memory to turn up the render distance. Edited July 22, 2012 by aTypicalGamer
Flurf 25 Posted July 22, 2012 I thought turning certain ones low will just shift the load to your CPU.

The rest of these are kind of duh, but doing all of these won't cause a significant boost in frame rate. Much less 30.

aTypicalGamer 1 Posted July 22, 2012 Intel Core Duo CPU E7400 2.8GHz, 4GB RAM. This will only help if you have actual hardware struggles. If you are having problems with the poorly optimized Arma coding, then none of this will help.
aTypicalGamer 1 Posted July 22, 2012 @Flurf The only setting that would shift onto your CPU is the Video Memory, which you need to keep on default.
DayZPvP.com 143 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) Tons of good info posted on my guide here. Most of what Op is saying is true, good tips there, just be careful. ArmA is going to make things worse if you set some things too low like others have said.Try a few more here: Ultimate Tweak Guide for DayZ Edited August 1, 2012 by DayZPvP.com
