Question on map indicators

When you are in a server that shows nameplates(or shows your location on the map). Sometimes it shows an indicator titled "man". Is this man another survivor or a zombie?

if its blue its a survivor

if its orange/yellow its a zombie

Could be either, everything will show up as yellow and say man at first until you get close enough or watch long enough for it to identify then it will switch to blue and say survivor if it is a player.
