Why did you nerfed the loot percentage ?

I admit : i laughed. You cannot be serious.

No I am being serious. Infinity respawning loot has no place in this "Realistic Survival Simulation". The magical invisible delivery man that restocks the guns/ammo/food/drink/supplies is a terrible idea.

I think this would be an immensely powerful game change that would alter the entire spectrum and shift us from a Deathmatch PvP for fun game to a zombie zurvival game.

I kinda hate to, but I have to partially agree. Theoretically this would make the feel for survival higher. But there are clear Cons:

-Deathmatch might continue exactly as now.

-New joining players / Died players would start with nothing and would have to go through pretty much fully scavenged towns. (Random spawn would be an option here).

-and so on.

I do not think anything anyone does it going to change the mindset of a human being. You cannot force someone to play in the style that you like...... but you CAN change the atmosphere from one of a PvP infinitely respawning gun factory to that of a survival simulation where everything is precious, every can of food is a banquet, a new larger backpack upgrade is a pair of angel wings, a tent is a mansion, a compass is the guiding divine hand of the almighty, and bullets are the new money. How you exchange them is up to you if through trade or through the trigger.

Turkey, your sarcasm is noted. Realistic is defined as: interested in, concerned with, or based on what is real or practical. Respawning loot is one of those compromises you can make and still have the overall experience approach realism.

Could the respawn times on loot be turned up? Yes, and a good part of me thinks they should be.

EDIT: So let's make the environment a bit more difficult to survive against. I'm glad you realized that you can't force people to play the game they way you want them to play it, good for you. Make zombies more difficult to deal with indoors, add maybe 30% more zombies, and add the occasional small group (2-3) of roaming zombies outside of town.

To be honest though, all you're going to wind up doing is making the highwaymen and bandits team up with more like-minded people. Still, I do think it would make things more interesting overall.

Well that is where you and I differ and disagree panzer.

I argue that turning off respawning loot would present a far greater survival experience that fits in better with a apocalyptic zombie scenario and would only enhance gameplay.

I am interested to hear what the game developers thoughts are on this topic as they have remained mum on the suggestion threads I made discussing this and have also failed to comment on every single (probably 20-30+) posts that I have made on the subject.

You and I both know that that's not practical unless you want to DRASTICALLY increase the amount of resources available. Two weeks down the line, any newcomers to the game will be boned because there won't be any supplies left.

You have the small corners you have to cut in order to make something like this feasible to begin with in a virtual format (like respawning loot), and those are acceptable to do away with. The overall aims of the mod can still be achieved with comparatively minor sacrifices in order to make it playable.

I disagree it is VERY practical. Servers do not stay up for two weeks without being reset.... it has to happen eventually anyways.

Remove item respawning until server resets.

You really need an end game for that to work Turkey. Constant server restarts are not part of the game, just an unfortunate circumstance. There could be a happy medium i.e high value loot doesn't respawn but then you could end up with one server holding all the high value loot.
