B Allred 1 Posted July 21, 2012 Hello, I recently started playing DayZ about a month ago. Currently I am stuck in a sticky situation.. I'm at the field hospital in cherno out by the apartments with a Lee Enfield (out of ammo) and a Makarov (5 mags). I have lots of food and water. But I need a bigger backpack and ammo. peliluola@gmail.com 28 Posted July 21, 2012 (edited) Just go looting deerstands etc. to find more weapons and ammo. You don't have that much to lose on death so there's no reason to be hiding. Unless you're one of those hardcore players who really treat their DayZ life as real life and never want to die because they were too much in a hurry. Lee Enfield is a great weapon which is easy to get ammo for and is so powerful you can easily take out bandits with it should you encounter some. I suggest you quickly find some ammo and then start hunting for a backpack. Also don't trust other players even if they say friendly, I think that's proven not to mean anything nowadays. Coyote (24 slot) spawns in military buildings as well as deerstands. You can also loot a backpack off a dead player.For weapons, just hit deerstands and get a nice AKM or the like before hitting NWAF. If you still need more gear, I'd advise to go to the NEAF. Hit Krasnostav's supermarket on your way there. REVOLT (DayZ) 12 Posted July 21, 2012 Loot stores. They drop packs and tents. If you can't pick up a pack pick up the junk around it first.Watch for bicycles in the bushes. I have found a few this way.If you have a some water bottles, a hatchet and matches you can go look for camps to loot and never have to go to town to die again. This is what I do. Sure you can deal with Zs and Bandits to find a pile of ammo. Or, you can stumble on a bus in the woods that is full of all kinds of crap.
