Are zombies anything more than a nuisance?

Curious as to what experienced players have to say.

The zeds will take many a noob life, no doubt. Now more than ever since we spawn without a weapon, and the mod is enjoying an enormous influx of new players who are learning the mechanics. The initial learning curve is definitely steep.

Is the mid/endgame about zombie apocalypse though? Or something else?

Once you learn the very minimum basics (where to find an axe/how to equip it), are the zeds anything more than a nuisance?

They're just a nuisance at the moment. Rocket needs to make them a lot harder.

Zombies are a warning system during end-game. If they've been spawned at a position where you're not within range to spawn them yourself; then there must be a player there of had just moved through there.

The Amount of times I've been caught in elektro without ammo for my pistol and had my legs broken is crazy.

but yea they aren't really a threat just a nuisance that has killed me many a time ;_;

They will be much more of a threat once you can't simply abort them anymore.

They are barely a threat. On my first spawn the other day I immediately aggro'd 4-5 zombies and simply ran in circles until they vanished. You can't be caught by zombies while running, and they don't corner well,

It varies. Small towns are harder now because there are more zeds to deal with, they are more likely to aggro and there aren't places to hide and evade them like in 1.7.1.5.

Cities and airfields are much easier, You can run from structure to structure to evade them and never expect to aggro more than about 3 of them. used to get surrounded in buildings like radio towers and supermarkets. Now I get pestered while I loot.

They are a nuisance that will end up killing you when you think there's no way they can. Most people die to zombies not other players.

I died a LOT to zeds when I first started playing. The learning curve of the mod is steep no doubt. And the base ArmA game is unusual enough to make it bit of a hurdle in itself.

Numbers-wise, I've died more to zeds than other players. But, since I learned the controls of the base game, and the mechanics of the mod itself, I haven't died to a zed in weeks.

They would be a better threat if the ArmA engine would allow them to attack WHILE running instead of having to stop running.

Zombies are 0 threat. Just run around corners, bushes and trees with timed crouch running and they never hit you and you always loose them.

They only thing they are good at is running/hitting/aggroing through walls and telling you if there are players in a town/whatever you're approaching.

- You can kill zombies without even using a weapon ... it's just a game mechanic that causes them to die if thay do certain things.

- You can run through a town, gather a train of zombies and dump them on the first survivor you see (it's actually fun, but not for the survivor)

- You can go through towns, looting and all without even alerting any zeds at all

- You can loot a chopper by running up to it (and I mean propper running stance) and not alert any zeds, simply by using a flare at night or a smoke during the day.

No, zombies are just ants atm, that's why I have turned to pvp, as the "surviving the elements & zombies" aspect of the game offers no challenge at all.

So it's his fault that zeds are so broken and worthless that there is no point or challenge fighting them?

Is it my fault that the zombies offer no challenge what so ever ?

That even during a fire fight with a player I will ignore the zombie attacking me simply cause he hardly deals any damage ?

Sure when I was still a noob, I died thousands of times till I learn't how to deal with them.

Zombies need to be "ugraded to the state of "Nemesis" " to actualy be itresting enough to play against.

Possible fixes:

- Way more zombies

- Zombies spanw in forrests

- Zombies run inside buildings

- Zombies infect you within the first 3 hits, causing a constant loss of blood

- Zombies hit much harder

- Only way to kill the Zombies = Headshot

Also, idk why the F we are calling them Zombies, thay are in fact "Infected", creatures that have kept the ability to move at high speed.

I'm not accusing you of anything. I'm just asking what's the point for you of playing a zombie mod where the zombies don't affect you. If you're just pvping, then you're basically just playing a watered down version of the base game itself.

If you don't like the zombies to the point of the game being unplayable, don't play the mod. It's really as simple as that.

On the other hand, if you can deal with the zombies being less than what you had previously imagined, then things should be fine. It's all on you - whether you decide to continue playing or not. There's no point coming to the forums and telling people these things when they're all well aware of the different opinions on hand.
