Logging off solutions?

Recommended Posts

Ok first I'd like to say sorry if this post is already up I checked 6 pages back and couldnt see one,

Anyway everyone knows that logging off is " broken" when your trying to kill someone and they disappear u can still be looking for them 5-10 mins later not really knowing if they are gone, (very annoying) I think that banning people that log off it way to extreme, if there was a way of discouraging people to log I think this would work better. If there was a 30 second delay after logging out so that your character stays in the game. You can still log out safely but it would stop people just logging as soon as they see someone or are getting chased by zombies.

Also if after being shot at or shooting a gun your self the 30 second timer could be increased to 3-4 mins. I don't really see a reason why people would be shooting there gun and then legitimately log off, just a thought anyway.

If you have other ways of solving the problem please share your points and tell me if I'm wrong. :)

- Sam.

The next patch, 1.7.2.4, will attempt to fix the issue.

There are also a billion other threads on this, try using the search function.

Yeah, um, search fail... And logic fail.. (since its such an easy solution that you MUST have realized its popped into someone's head before yours... Or you're colossally egotistical?)

But yes. This is the run of the mill solution that everyone posts about to deal with the issue, having played other games online, particularly MMOs.

And yes, sorry to tell you, this is like the two millionth thread on this. Since its going to be dealt with in some fashion in the next patch... A first run at it, at least, best to start holding your breath now.
