What if!

We could have rigged bomb on our backbag. When you die, the timer starts or when someone tries to loot your corpse, they explode to smithereens. Or this just could be used to destroy the loot you are holding.

One last laugh to the death, holding grenade and watching that sneaky bandit/survivor coming close. BOOM motherf**ker!

Kinda something like in MadMax, stealing my shit? ain't getting nothing from me!

Cheaters booby trap corpses all the time. They leave a hacked weapon in a corpse on the coast, let a newbie find it and get a permaban :P

Only if such survivor would have a chance to explode randomly during running. I'd laugh my arse off if I saw such clown explode somewhere :D

We just need the Arma2 IED's in the game. They can either be timed, or set off manually from a short distance away. I'd love to put IED's on dead player bodies, and wait for someone to come around...

While the idea of martydom in this game doesn't appeal to me, i do like the idea of being able to make IED's out of the random bits and pieces you salvage around the map, and use them as traps on corpses and vehicles and buildings.

LOL i was just thinking of this as I was watching national geo earlier. I also thought that it'd make loots impossible and I thought that it could be overcomed by being able to shoot at the body/backpack triggering the bomb without you dying, of course the loot goes, but idk how well this would work ig.

Not sure about the backpack, but we definitely need a way to trap the gas tanks of our cars. That and a dog. And a friendly gyropilot...

Along with the others ITT, an IED would be a great addition to the game, as the mod already has a very basic crafting system. Since I still play solo, cars aren't in my leauge, and when I come across scrap metal and jerry cans, I feel as though they could be used for something else. Building an IED out of scrap metal, scrap electronics (new addition, maybe?), and maybe gunpowder/some type of unarmed C4, would be awesome. And I could also lay an IED in a doorway and wait for players to come, or even Zeds!

Please take notice, Rocket, maybe you can add this as a test in the next patch? I could also be pushing all of our luck.

It shouldn't be martyrdom a la CoD. And it shouldn't be able to be set up BY the dead player before he/she dies.

Booby traps should exist in this game, but should only operate from a third party.

Example

Survivor 1 dies

Bandit 1 finds corpse and places IED

Survivor 2 comes upon corpse

Bandit 1 triggers detonation

Survivor 2 dies

Boobytrapping shouldn't be to discourage killing others and looting their bodies, it should be there to have players think twice about any random corpse you come across. And I'm not sure how it would play out with the hyper-fixed loot spawns we've got going on.

There is already a way to booby trap/lay IED. You just need to find a satchel charge.

The IED 1, 2, 3, 4 from BAF have the same functions as the satchel, they just have skins to look like IEDs (trash, buried shell) and they have different yields that correspond to different explosion sizes that are already implemented.

If I find a satchel, I'm gonna blow up someone going to a hospital just for lulz.
