How come it's so hard to find working servers?

Title for reference.

I always seem to spend nearly half an hour looking for a server, and I wonder why. Why are they all running different versions? Why do I get stuck at the wait for host screen? Why do I get stuck at the waiting for character to create screen?

And, why are some servers locked?

Server has to upgrade their version. Takes a while sometimes.

Server hosts are responsible for the update.

If they don't, then they have a different one than you that just started Six Launcher and upgraded the version, etc.

LOL... so true. we have to go through atleast few servers until we find a working one. the more players on a server the more better chance you will join that server.

I know, but I don't WANT to join a server with 39/50 people, and, by the time I get in and verify that the time zone is the same as the one that the server says and it works, the server's full and my friends can't get in.

try joining servers with 10+ people... less than 10 and the server is prolly crashing or stuck

i usually tend to look for the servers with atleast 10-11 people playing. if your using six launcher it should be clear which servers are outdated etc. if you keep getting the wait for host issue than its the servers your trying to enter. i hate playing in full pitch darkness but these are the easiest servers to get into for some reason. since im from uk ... at day time i play uk server and night time i play Seattle servers which i find more reliable than some of the UK servers. try SEATTLE or ATLANTA....

Find a good server, stay on it, don't use Six Launcher and only update when the server updates.

Since tents and vehicles are per server it makes sense to stick with one anyway.

Jeez, I've been looking for an hour now. I don't even want to play anymore, this is rediculous. Blame me for using Six Launcher, but I update when an Update comes out.

There should be a rule that servers have to update within 5 days of an update release.

how do i look for servers without using six launcher i read some where up top that i should do that and stick to one server.. also has any one noticed that you find a great server that works really well and dissappears the next day, or that a server works fine then doesnt the next day?

I have that problem a few times, only a few days ago found a stable server and set up a base hoping I can keep on it for a few weeks before it dies
