HFBServers Customers...

Recommended Posts

*sigh* I guess I should have looked into other hosting companies before purchasing from HFB. If you guys are waiting for 1 person to wake up so thousands of people can play then you need to think of a change of management, or hiring more people. Basic principals of business. Wake that man up, he may have been up late doing maint but that is part of a server admin's job. Be available 24/7 in-case of emergency patches that need to be patched. This is your guy's "job" I'd hope if you're managing 100's of servers. He can sleep again after its fixed.

Lol HFB servers is ran by old staffers IIRC. So funny how this whole move to only hosting providers benefited them directly. They just buy servers and rehost them to you guys.

You need to sort out your text colour man, but I totally agree with you. It really isnt looking good for HFB right now.

See above. You guys should know this is a giant ponzi scheme to make something out of just a free mod. They just changed the rules recently so it directly benefits hosting providers. In the end more money is being made for someone so yea, get hosed.A while ago all the servers were ran by people who wanted to help the mod out but slowly it's changed into the way it is where you have to buy from a provider.

I agree with you Alfiey, though you might want to use a font color that can be read, no reason to hide. This is a competitive business, you must be competitive to survive, or people will go elsewhere. If I didn't have assets I want to keep on that server, I'd already be. Should an update wipe all in-game assets out...we'll see.

Anyone else who could do this is on Holiday for the weekend.

Edit; Afley, you are right. I've already tried calling him ten times. This is just unacceptable.

Must be nice. 3-day holiday weekend when there's no holiday. Must be making some nice income...

*shrug* All I care about is service when I pay for a service.

rinaun, you're just trolling man. I don't mind paying hosting companies for a service, but I expect service for that fee. Many hosting company-operated servers were updated quickly after the patch last night. Like I said before, it's a competitive market, and those companies that have superior service are going to get more customers and positive feedback, those that don't...

Also on a note. From what I can see, the people who run HFB are not old people. I remember IIRC and been around it for a bit and I am only 22. I also believe that the HFB owner is somewhere in his 20s from what I have read from somewhere on here.

I pay for hosting and I can control everything for my host. I get the service I was provided. FYI as of last night there was only 20 servers online with this patch. Many servers? I was personally checking every 20 minutes to update my HIVE system so yea I'm pretty sure I'd know.

On another subject, why did you buy a server from the worst host in dayz? People have been complaining about HFB since they started. It's 2-4 college kids reselling hosts from a real provider. It's called buy for 20 sell for 80. I wouldn't host on any provider but if I did it would be anything but hfb. I wouldn't put my teamspeak in their hands, lol.

I'll look into it right now.

Edit; resolved an hour ago.

Yep looks like I am back in business. hopefully the server side updates can be applied soon as my client can't connect because I updated to 95168 and can't seem to back it out. I am a little sad it took 6 days but hopefully things get better as they get things sorted. but if you need a contractor to hlpe work out project managment/ customer support/ infrastructure issues shoot me a message.

You're telling me you work as a contractor as a projector manager for custoemr support projects... and you think 6 day downtime is acceptable on a 30 day billing cycle?

I would have cancelled my sub or demanded compensation.

Dude you're so awesome. Time to go back to your mirror and keep telling yourself that.

For others, this is a learning experience, and one that's obviously happening as we speak.

you sound pretty dumb, so I'll break it down for you. You can learn from reading. There were plenty of angry posts from MONTHS ago from HFB. You can read posts, granted you have an education around 5th grade level.

Sounds like someone should of "learned" more before throwing money at retarded hosting providers. That break down aside, please go drink some bleach and do us a favor.

Almost all hosting companies that sell game servers are resellers, shit almost all hosting companies out there hosting to the general everyday joe are resellers. There are big companies that own huge datacenters and then they resell to these hosting companies online. It's the fucking norm. Sometimes it's a mix of reselling and actually hosting some of your own servers too, like you might have your own datacenter in say Chicago but then you also offer servers through reselling in LA, Texas, NY, etc...

Also HFB is about 40% cheaper than the other hosts so I am fine with having the updates roll out a little slower when I am saving $25-30 per month.

Yes I do consulting and contract work in Customer contact centers. IT Infrastruture (mostly VMware/server 2008) and Project mangement for IT Departments

no I do not think 6 days is acceptable..... But difference is. 1.) I understand that the company is young, nich market, and high risk, with higher demand then they have people to fill the holes. 2.) Where you may see failure and unacceptable service level's I see oppurtunity for improvment (I know I know)

Spamming the twitter won't help. Anthony is asleep because he was up until 10 AM (Est) doing maintenance as well as ordering brand new Ivy Bridge servers. And I cannot put the update in myself. =\ So, sorry. You just are going to need to wait tight for a little bit.

Forgive us.

I own my own business, have a baby, and often only get 6 hours of sleep or less. I understand life is life. But it's been 10 hours now. How much sleep does Anthony need? Is this the truth? Are you guys in over your heads? Can we expect our servers to be updated today or not? This was my day off, me and a dozen or more friends were looking forward to playing DayZ together today on the server that we pay for, and now that day is almost over. Would be really nice to get some straight answers, and not more excuses.

I'd file a claim with small claims court. You'd get your cash back and I highly doubt those guys have enough cash to fight it. Take them to town and dinner IMO.

EDIT: Just checked, you are allowed to file if your service is down and you have records of trying to contact them for a reasonable time. I'm not sure what TOS you signed but looking at the way they set up HFB I highly doubt they wrote a covering TOS for themselves.

Ordering Ivy Bridge servers from another host doesn't take much time or work. It's not like you guys are racking these servers up yourselves. Hire a couple of high school "wanna be" IT kids for minimum wage and let them go to down on updating servers.
