Are vehicles bugged? Or is it just how arma2 made them.

I've been on a epic journey all morning driving my tractor with all my loot to set up my new base, I had 2 fals, one m14, m16 and a akm. I spent ages looking for a jerry can, then drove nervously across the map trying to get to my location. After about 1 hour of work I arrive there and try to hide my tractor in the bushes. I must have touched a tree in the process at about 3mph and the tree fell, my engine then went red and I was shot out from the tractor, I fainted and managed to survive with 800 blood.

Why did this happen? I literally hit the tree at 3mph.

I think it's something with Day Z. I've never had vehicles that were made out of glass like they are in DayZ when i play vanilla Arma 2

Possibly, but I what ever speed it was I just tapped the tree.

Yeah I remember in arma 2 literally ramming trees down with a humvee and still walking away from it. I mean the trees would actually fall

I think it would make more sense for the vehicle to just brake down much like how it is broke when you find it, and then you have to fix it with scrap metal. It seems dumb for it to just explode and throw me out of the window.

DayZ has more holes in it than my socks... you're lucky you didn't get killed and lose everything. I did. My tractor hit a stupid little bush and exploded and burned. Killing me in the process.

So is this just a tractor thing? Are tractors more susceptible to damage than most cars?

The only vehicle that doesnt seemingly be constructed from Glass is the ural truck you can ram trees with that badboy..... but its massive and blue and white so you cant ever hide it.
