What happens if you play a server with an older beta patch?

The server I placed my tent in has an outdated patch 1.94444. I was wondering what would happen if I upgrade and then played on this server?

94444 is ArmA/CO 1.6.0

Later patches are 1.6.1 or latest 1.6.2.

They are not compatible.

Don't bother, just update and play the latest build.
