Freeside Trading Co. will be hosting our weekly open trading event. We'll be exchanging weapons and ammo on-site.

When: 7/21 - 7/22, 20:30 UTC - 24:00 UTC or later (we'll be wrapping up, though)

Where: Green Mountain, Freeside 2

TS3 Server: 79.161.200.234:9117 - We are on a secure channel, drop down to DayZ/Group 1 and message Vulwulf if you need anything.

Rules: Approach the compound from the road at a walk. Enter through the front gatehouse after announcing yourself over VOIP and chat. Do not sign in or out at the compound (do so at the treeline). When inside, lower your weapon (primary out but down). The guards will direct you to the trading location.

Specific items available by request, but please be patient while we grab the gear.

Note: SixUpdater hates the server, so if you can't find it, launch DayZ by joining a random server, then disconnect and filter for "Freeside" in the Arma 2 server browser. Please do not arrive early.

you can also just click the verify button, then without selecting a server, you should have a "launch" option.. this will launch arma 2 without joining a game.. then press multiplayer and search for a game through the ingame filter..

Any idea why I can't get on Freeside 2?

I'm using sixlauncher so I'd assume I have the most recent version of the game, but it says the version is wrong.

Trying that now, hope it doesnt interfere.

Says I had 95168, evne though ingame it said 95208 :|.

If it works, guess ill get on my way to devil's castle

Well, good run. Probably the best one so far, really. Had maybe 10 to 15 traders come by, made a handful of trades. Biggest deal was some heavy arms and NVGs for a hatchback. Did have one panzy team ghost behind our overwatch and kill a few people. He and his buddy logged off with a Coyote and some rifle or another, no biggie. Moved the traders to another location in our UAZ and finished our trades.

We're open tomorrow as well! Location will be either Green Mountain or Devil's Castle.

We'll announce which we'll use, since it's kind of on the rails. Devil's is a little bit more defensible, but requires more people. Green is easier to fortify, but doesn't offer much safety to our spotter on the tower. Depends on who is available which day.

By the way, I forgot to thank our server hopping friends from today. Thanks to you, we've found a security hole at Green that has since been patched :)

Edit: Oh, and we're still at 100% trader survival!

im sort of a newb but id just like to ask what sort of gear youd be willing to trade for a ghillie. bizon sd with 2 mags sound good?

Us give you a ghillie? Bizon and mags sounds good, if we've got any ghillies laying around. If you can send a PM CC'd to Kurkistan and Vulwulf (To: Kurkistan, Vulwulf) and let them know to bring some ghillies, they will. If not, someone will have to drive back to base and pick some up. Wish we had a helicopter, mang.

Edit: If the other way around (you want a Bizon for a ghillie), I'd say more like a bizon and a mag. The mags are huge, so there's no way you're going to blow one off, and they're much harder to find than the gun itself.

We've never lost a trader, if that's what you mean. If you really want to, you can hop on our TS and request that someone pick you up (from a reasonable distance, not across the map). While in the base, your gear is guaranteed. In the event of your unlikely death, we'll grab your stuff (or at least the important bits) and hold onto them. Also, bodies stick around a long time on our server (not sure if it's like that everywhere), so you can probably just run back and grab stuff off your body.

Edit: Misread what you meant. If you really don't feel safe, you can ask for an escort out or just go to a safer server.

If a hacker instagibs the server, we can't do anything about it.
