Zigzagging/fast zombies

Is it just me or is it really annoying and hard to kill zombies when they zigzag and run side to side real fast, then stop and hit the air and continue following you? I think zombies should have the same speed as players so they don't zigzag and they can be shot with more ease. Real zombies are not capable of running at 45mph and zigzag. Cmon.

I just love these sort of statements :D :D :D

But I do agree they should nerf the speed of zeds to same as players, as is now they run way faster (hence zig-zag like nuts) until they catch up to us,

would make more logic if same speed/slightly slower when we loose them so easy now.

Keeps me thinkin nostalgic about "old" days when you were dead once aggro was cought.

I agree,

zombies are far too jerky,

I have had the same one see me,

run away from me for 25ft

run back to me

run past me for another 10ft

run around me in circles

finally coming to a stop behind me

all the the space of 3 seconds.

Firstly why are the entire population of Chernarus Ninjas? and secondly how did an entire population of Ninjas get wiped out by zombies?

Cmon the RP guys need to know

the thing that gets me is the zigzagging Zed as from what everything we kno about what a Zed is that they have only kno 1 really good thing and that is BRAINS and they normally run straight for what they want but hey it's different but the 45mph who knos

Tottaly agree, those things in the mod right now are not zombies, but some highly mutaded and specialized predators. Zombies should be slow, killed only by headshots or two full magazines into chest. Right now it's just silly to watch how zombie who has problems standing straight without falling over, turns into zigzaging farmer running with the speed of cheetah in the moment they aggro on you. Making them slower but more bulletproof would also fix issue with them running after you for the whole map and stopping when they try to hit you over and over.

I actually had a zombie chase me halfway across the map without actually hitting me once. Too bad i ended up starving to death before i could make it back to civilization. What really annoys me though is when one runs up, attacks and then walks away like nothing happened. AT LEAST KILL ME WITH CONVICTION!!!!

And yes that actually happend to me, twice.

As rocket stated the zeds in game are not zombies yet, they are infected. Which means they are basically still alive to some degree.

They do tend to run in ways that baffle the laws of physics but its not hard to kill them, just dont agro to many at a time!

Although the phase shifting is annoying, if a zed runs up to me in front, dont let him miraculously port behind me...

They zig zag because of the screwed up AI which works counter intuitively for 'infected', rocket has said along the lines of , "they need to run so fast so that when they run the wrong way they can actually catch up".

I'm loving his logic,

Apparently if something's broken, you have to break it some more to compensate

As time goes he's making the game less and less playable and enjoyable

They should make the zombies able to attack a player when he's running, as now one can just run across the entire map with 40 zombies following and none of them will be able to attack you.

Disagree. Infected are way too easy now. You don't have to even kill them, just run through bushes and corners and they'll lose sight of you. And they are too easy to sneak past, just prone and you are invisible (1.7.2.3). Imho more zombies to spawn in one location and make them harder to deceive. People would actually have to use those ammos.

This, and the zombies are perfect they run fast but they will leave some space between you and them before running again hence the possibility of losing them in bushes. It was probably a flaw but it makes a game experience that has a dynamic way of losing them and getting eaten.

Yeah but how do you make a zombie harder to sneak past or run away from, yet still maintain a sense of, 'i can do this'?

Also, using up ammo seems to be only for PvP, agreed, but having to force a player to shoot at zombies because they are harder to avoid would then only attract more zombies, which are harder to get away from. Eventually a player will run out of ammo and die right?

I believe the point is that you shoudln't be able to outrun them. Otherwise you could just do the chernarus marathon and be perfectly safe.

+1 on the Zig zag nerf. Like If I the player cant Zig zag that fast why can an AI object dart like that?

Catching up at stupid speeds then sitting behind me? PLease...If it followed from a distance sure. BUT! Catching up from 200m away is Farked!
