Backpack access warning message / delay

Recommended Posts

Assuming I'm carrying a backpack I'd notice if someone was trying to access it especially if they were taking out something as big as an assault rifle + ammo.

What i'd like to see is

- 3 second delay to access a backpack thats not yours, during that time the player whose backpack you are trying to access has to be completely still

- A popup message if your backpack is being accessed, the message should last the full 3 seconds it takes the other player to open it.

the message could be as simple as "Backpack being opened"

If someone was to walk up behind you and open up your backpack, take things IRL, do you get a warning and does the person get a delay?

I saw kids during my school years get robbed like that, hell I even had shit stolen out of my bag when I wasn't looking and/or had a backpack that was too large to feel what was going on.

Such is life, pay more attention to your surroundings and/or find better friends to play DayZ with.

Good thing you intervened when you saw those kids being robbed. Anyway, did they instantly use their items from the backpack or did the person stealing have to fumble around for a second or 3 before retrieving something from the pack ?

If you don't notice someone getting a large object like that from your backpack RL something is seriously wrong with your sensory organs. Unless you have the finger dexterity of a magician and you can retrieve, a gun, the ammo, load the gun and fire it in under 2 seconds. Its also one of the reasons why I shoot unarmed players on sight if they get too close.
