How well will this system run DayZ?

I just invested in a new gaming computer. DayZ has definitely got me into PC gaming, and I found this sucker for very cheap, I think. Then again, I am no computer expert.

How good is this system for the price? ($525)

It will run it sure, but the CPU isn't very good. You should build it yourself, and always go Intel for gaming, you get far better gaming performance for your money.

I'm not looking for top-notch, just something that can run a few games well, like DayZ, World of Warcraft, etc. Any idea of the graphics settings this thing will run DayZ on? High, possibly?

It'll run the game just fine on normal/high settings. If it's a big sluggish at 1080p just run it at 720. My 5770 runs the game at 35-40ish fps at 1080p with everything on normal. If I play on 720p, I get around 50. I tend to keep it on 720 now when I play for recording purposes. Files are just way too big when I'm recording video in 1080p. This game uses more CPU than GPU in my experience. I have an i7 2600k though.

It should run it on medium to high, it's hard to tell with Arma 2 because it can be such a system hog. Enjoy your new PC. :)

Hello! I just dicovered DayZ and I´m really interested in playing it. My only concern is that I just installed the DEMO Version of ArmA 2 and it is running pretty Bad even on low settings (view distance as low as possible).

Can I hope to improve the performance with patches or do I need a better Sytem?

My System: Acer Aspire; Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5740; 4 gb Ram; interl i3

yes and also guys Arma 2 FREE COMPLETELY MAKES YOU RUN IT ON LOW.. even if it says high its on low, I know this because I am running DayZ with Arma 2 FREE and Arma 2 OA.. I can set it to high and the only thing effected are a couple of OA gun models....

basicly detail models will be set low just like PMC.. if you had PMC your character would look awesome....

Just a piece of advice: if you dont have the money to invest in something top-notch save your money until you can. It really will save you money in the long run, especially if you build it yourself. Better to spend an extra $200 on a nice GPU now than get one for $150~ only to replace it in a year.

I don't play Arma 2 free. And yes, when seeing if my brother's system could handle Arma 2, I tried Arma 2 free. It handled Arma 2 free very easily with everything on high, but it is very choppy with everything on high on the paid Arma 2.

I have an Xbox for future games, I am buying this PC to play a few games that aren't for consoles. I don't plan on playing the newest games on my PC.
