How do you open vehicle inventory?

So, me and a friend found a bus in Cherno. Then drove it off inland a bit. We were both wondering how we can open the vehicle inventory? We tried the scroll wheel and going around the bus pressing G...but nothing.

Is there a trick to it or a certain part of the bus that you need to be at, to get into the inventory?

Yes. you need to be in a certain part of the bus to access the inventory.

The trick was, use scroll wheel. Get in drivers seat. Get in back seat. And then that let the gear button show up. Just getting into back seat doesn't seem to do that.
