Show who you where killed by.

Logs can show who killed who to combat hackers.

However showing it for everyone would remove an element from the game, i.e. the person you're teaming up with if you do it all in-game could be the same person that sniped you a few days ago and you have no idea.

I'd have to say no.

..when we reached the top Id hit him 9 times with the hatchet and he didnt die or break bone or anything. He started to aim up so i ran away for 2 seconds and he fired and missed me ..so i ran straight back to him after the 2 seconds and hit him another 2-3 times with the hatchet in the face before he shot me dead. Now Iv never had any problems / bugs using hatchet before on zombies or on players so In my view there is no bugs with it that would cause me to not kill this player after hittim him 11 times in the face....

Please for the love of god allow us to see who killed us.

At the very least, admins should be able to see this, and you should have the ability to communicate with them regarding the issue, where they can check the log and see who you are talking about. Seeing who killed you could cause a flurry of other problems for people. Like unjustified claims of hacking because they got lucky, etc, etc.

For your consideration, however:

1. Hatchets aren't the most reliable weapon. The don't have a "swing" of damage. It's like a gun, you have to aim with the crosshair (or where it would be).

2. When you move, accuracy drops, do you may have aimed at his face but your hit zone may have been off.

4. If you were in his face hacking away, that might contribute to the issue. Many a time I've gone face-to-face, point blank with a zombie and hacked away, only to find debris puffing against a wall behind the zombie, as if I swung right through him.

5. Possible sync issues?

Player names do not unique identify players. They can be any string. Most hackers use ' ' as their name.

Besides, it's completely silly to suggest a fundamental alteration of the game design simply to let you nab a hacker every once in awhile.

You shouldn't know who killed you.

You're dead.

If you want to find out, travel with friends and when you die your friend can kill your assailiant and study the body.

Much more immersive solution, no?

If you die alone then tough shit.

I changed my mind. Remove the whole debug monitor and "x was killed" messages. Why? Ppl would have to make sure the player they shot is dead by wasting more ammo.

Have it only show in server logs, not player logs.

Knowing who killed you is something you should know unless you knew they were shooting you.

Then server admins will use the server logs to kick whoever killed them and invent a valid bullshit reason to do so "hacking suspicion, etc..."

Global / Side Channel was disabled, there is no way to "bitch" about something now.

You also shouldn't know when other players were killed kilometers away from you. So they might also leave out those "PlayerXY was killed" messages completly.

I know its been said before ..but i have to make another as today I got anoyed by a hacker.

Basically I was on ocuk server today..Now ocuk usually has a good few hackers on at any given time ..and although the admins say they keep it clean ..they do not ..as they put it " They need evidence" and ofc unless people are recording every time they play ..they cant have evidence ..so basicly no evidence = they let the hackers/cheaters run free.

This is was happened exactly ..I ran into chern with my hatchet after looting it from a shed near shore. I ran striaght to the orange apartment buildings that are across from the hospital at the back of chern..I ran right into the furthest away orange building from the hospital ( the one at the back ) as I ran in there was another player there with a winchester at the bottom of the staircase..I ran right into his face and started chopping him with my hatchet and as I was chopping him he was slowly backing off from me up the staircase ..when we reached the top Id hit him 9 times with the hatchet and he didnt die or break bone or anything. He started to aim up so i ran away for 2 seconds and he fired and missed me ..so i ran straight back to him after the 2 seconds and hit him another 2-3 times with the hatchet in the face before he shot me dead. But the problem here is that I couldnt report the player to the admins to keep an eye on him as I didnt know who killed me (vet server) as there name doesnt show who killed you..all that shows is that (Player) has died. Now how are admins suppose to combat cheaters when they dont know who they are?

Please for the love of god allow us to see who killed us.

No. Just no. Part of the fun in this title is not knowing who killed you. It allows for betrayals, it allows for ambushes,and most importantly, it promotes the trust no one, never assume you are safe mantra.

Maybe better cheat protection against hackers perhaps but i do understand being able to see the name is easier but how often does one encounter these shitheads anyway ?

No kill cam but since we are "game-testers" It would be nice to know who is hacking. The pros outway the cons. Probably not so great to add that once the game is complete but for now, why not.

As far as the disconnecting and connecting message, I also like this because that way you can tell who is disconnecting because they pussied out and as mentioned somewhere in here that way you can also stop for a minut or 2 and see if someone logged in around you.

Yep. Definitely need a kill cam. This will make the game even more dangerous for EVERYONE. As it stands, this game rewards people who camp and hide. You get shot and have no idea where from. There is no way to improve or learn from your death. Except a General form of even more paranoia.

Absolutely not. Kill cams help kill strategy for everyone. If you want to show in the bottom ...... was killed by ....... so be it. But showing them a kill cam is no go.

Everything was explained to you properly over at the OCUK forums Massicor!

And once more, don't fucking accuse admins on any server of letting hackers so what they want!!

You have no idea what it takes to admin a server, or what to look out for when someone is hacking...

Time and time again it was explained to you, but you chose to ignore the explanation from more experienced players of Dayz!!

Please don't come back onto the server, it obviously isn't one you enjoy or want to play on, as it is full of hackers all the time!!

In basic English!!
