Give yourself blood!

Recommended Posts

I know this feature was taken out of the game (atleast I heard you used to be able to give your self blood) But I really think you should include it into the game again, that way while still being hard playing alone can still be possible and fun to do. Right now if you lose any blood you are pretty much screwd unless you have a friend online, its impossible to ask any stranger to give you blood as 99% of the time they will kill you before you have a chance to ask, and asking your friends to constantly give you blood is an annoyoance.

Why? It makes sense not to have it. It's something that encourages teamwork. It's better if you can't do everything by yourself.

It makes the game to easy. You need to make friends on the server you are in and if you want blood back go cook meat and get anywhere from 1200 - 2400 blood back. If you could give yourself blood then you could run to a hospital and get 15 blood bags and have your ak-47 or sniper and pistol and run around and get shot by players or attacked by a hord of zombies and then go into a building and give yourself blood, run back down and kill the zombies/people trying to kill you. Sorry man but -1 because it is to easy.

Not everyone wants to have teamwork everytime they play though, I have a group of 6+ people I play with but sometimes I prefer to play alone or people are not always online, so am I not soupposed to play when my friends are not around?

I never play DayZ without my friends online unless if I am in a server and just get more supplies to help them out. Just join one server and stay in on area and take the supplies that you need. Once you do that then it is your call to keep playing on that server or you can leave and just wait for your friends to get online. I joined 1 server this morning and found a map, watch, epi-pen, auto-morphine injector, military flashlight, dmr, painkillers, cooked meat, and a gps. Yeah I got lucky with that server but that could have happened to anyone, I was just lucky to join that one and the fact that the people there were dead, so I looted there bodies. Now I am waiting for all of my friends to come online. I always play with 3 to 4 people at a time. One of us is always the sniper on look-out. If you want, you can join us.

I'm a lone survivor and I rarely bother making contact with anyone if I can help it.

I've been down to ~3000 blood and limped to the nearest cow or pig so I could slaughter and eat them.. many times.

That said, I still carry a blood pack around with me whenever I can.

Its not necessarily for me, I just want to make sure that I can help someone, if I run across them dying in the middle of nowhere.

I agree that it would be nice to be able to give yourself a transfusion, but as an experienced player, I have to take the side of the people who are saying that it's already easy enough to keep yourself healthy by hunting animals and cooking the meat.

Maybe in the future this will happen, but as it is right now there is no reason to interact with other players as long as you have the tools needed to sustain yourself. :)

tl;dr go hunting. ;)

What Dronax said works just fine too, you're basically suggesting because you want an easier way around your own avoidable problems.

Needing another player to transfuse blood into your body encourages teamplay. If people were able to transfuse themselves, then people would basically treat bloodpacks as if they were bandages. Free Blood Refills for everyone, we'd all be running around with a stockpile of it knowing that we'd be able to heal ourselves without the need of help from other people or other methods (eating) to regenerate health and restore full capabilities.

Also, If you're looking for a team mate, find a good server you'd like to play on, join their voice chat server (teamspeak, mumble etc) and find a buddy or a group, you're more likely to receive help and less likely to get shot that way.

I agree with most People here that it makes the Game too easy. And there is the Opportunity to hunt Cows and Goats, and that should be enough to regain Blood.

As silly as it sound: But DayZ can be a Multiplayer Game! So finding Someone giving you the Transfusion is not impossible.

I want self-administered blood packs. I play alone. I care not for others. Eating 2 whole cows is not realistic. You can't just "make friends" when you dont have a mic. People who have teams already have a VERY large advantage.

I agree with him but I would cook meat instead. Although it makes no sense to do a blood transfusion with a bloodbag needing someone else to be there...

there is not enough team work in this game as it is.putting that in just makes it a lone wolf game.

there should actually be more items that require teamwork to use imo

Bad idea. Blood bags work perfect now and it encourages teamwork.

and again, there was no argument why you cant give yourself blood trasfusion. and wont be. why? because its a stupid limitation, similar to turning FF off. imho bloodbags should be nerfed.

i agree that there should be mechanics that influence team work but blood transfusion doesnt fit this role.

I agree with u and dont agree with you,

they musst be some option to give u blood without a team and without food, but in the other case .. if a real person just lose a lot of blood he is not able to give him blood by himself.

In DayZ case, i think it should be possible to self give blood until u have more than 7500-8000 blood, if u under this value u arent able to do this.

This is in my opinion a good idea to take this, u are able to play solo but team-playing is much better than do anything solo

Think about it.

The blood bags encourage teamwork. If I am in a team, blood bags are the preferred method of healing. When I am alone, I just hoard meat. Not really a big deal, since meat is everywhere ;)

I think that you should be able to give yourself a blood transfusion from a blood bag because it is possible, also people will work in teams anyway.

The way i would balance this is the operation takes 5 minutes you can't shoot and can only move slowly.

IRL Transfusion of one blood bag (about a pint of blood) takes roughly an hour, maybe more.

To do this yourself, you'd either need to find an IV stand, or hold the bag above your head for an hour, while semi-concious.

Obviously we don't want to be sitting for an hour in real time waiting for the process to finish, but if DayZ is aiming for realism and authenticity, the task shouldn't be simplified in the slightest.

In my opinion blood-bagging is already far too powerful. I hope it gets a serious nerfing for standalone.

EDIT: Say, for example, you got down to 3000 blood. When you have lost 3/4 of your blood you wouldn't be fit to wipe your own ass, let alone give yourself a blood transfusion.

On a side note, people have round about 10 pints of blood in their body. Those blood bags hold
ONE
pint of blood.
