PatrickMcGaha 1 Posted July 19, 2012 There needs to be something on the server that tells you day or night. Like a "D" or an "N", so we know not to join servers that have night symbols on it. Please consider this instead of just looking and just saying anything. It is hard to find good servers now because I will join one with 20 people and its pitch black or I join one with five people and it's daylight. DayZ please fix this. sibexus 26 Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) The server names usually contains the time of the day currently in game. Most server names have "GMT" in it. Look up the different between GMT and the time zone you are in. It will have a number after GMT, example "GMT -8". With that you would take GMT and subtract 8 hours from it and that's the current time related to your time. Get it? Maybe someone can explain it better than me. But once you get this worked out, just do a search for the times you want. For example if you know that GMT+12 would be noon related to your time, then do a server search for GMT+12 and you get all the ones with that time. Not all servers have this in the name, but enough do that you shouldn't have a problem finding what you want. There are also benefits to joining servers during night, zombies can't detect you as well. Stooby 8 Posted July 19, 2012 This is definitely needed. It is virtually impossible to find a night server with people in it. My friend and I spent a few hours one night joining servers trying to find a night server that had more than 10 people in it.And, no, the timezone in the name doesn't work because admins will reset the server and change the time so it stays daylight.Night is the most fun time to play because it is the most intense in my opinion. Nothing is quite as exciting as sneaking through Cherno and then a flare or chem light lights up right next to you when you didn't even know a player was there. The server list needs to have the server time. Max Planck 7174 Posted July 21, 2012 As Sibexius said, what you want is already there. It's up to the server hosts to put it in the description though, there's not much the devs can do about it.
ibux (DayZ) 22 Posted July 21, 2012 >Go into server>Look at Sky>Sun = Day>Moon/Stars = NightI don't see the problem. It takes alot of time joining servers, at least if you got to join 5-6 servers before finding one.

Annoying as hell if your eyesight isn't great to begin with.
Max Planck 7174 Posted July 22, 2012 The trick is to find a server/couple of servers you like, and just stick to them.
