how to set a password

hallo guyz,

i perfectly know that passwording the server goes against the DayZ rules.

But, as we just brought a server, i would lile to learn some commands and settings and i need to close for 30 mins our server.

Can anyone tell me what kind of command and where have i to write to set a password ? and how to cancel it once we set correctly our server?

I don't understand what locking your server has to do with learning commands.

Just login and learn them.

Why there is so many server lock and passworded ?

Is it a joke or what ?

Cause if i can have a private server with password...

I just loot every thing in the map with my friend....

Have a camp juste in town Cerno, Electro, ....

Then i get great gear there and i go play on other server.

When im dead... i came back on my passworded server and gear up again !

It's not fair for other legit player !!!

Why this kind of server is tolerate ??????????????????????????

Next time, don't make a post with THAT, you password your server -> You want to loot, it's FORBIDDEN, so, you just launch a ARMA II simple server for learn OR you use GOOGLE.

(Or you want to test a cheat ? Hmmm. So many reason for lock a server.)

Google is a great resource for learning. I've had to do this a bit, being new to arma 2 server setups :)

If people didn't want to break the rules, the rules wouldn't have to exist in the first place.

People have provided information about the commands you want to learn.

Your continued insistence on pressing the issue makes it clear that you had more in mind than just "testing."

Like finding a vehicle and some supplies before opening your server to the public, maybe?

Don't lock the password. Just list a fake version number and install an older version like 1.7.1.5. Nobody notices and nobody does anything about it

Just check the server list, you will see that there planty of srver lock and passworded!

They don't give a flying fuck what you do with your own servers. It's a community problem and they are no longer policing the servers. Period.

All this bullcrap about people asking to blacklist. Crying admin abuse and admins running rampant is an unsolvable problem that they are no longer going to tackle. The future of dayz will lie in company controlled servers. This is alpha and all those servers are for testing and nothing else. It will have no effect on the beta or release. So stop crying wining and screaming about it.
