subvision 14 Posted July 19, 2012 Hello People.What do you think of decreasing the hunting Time of enemy Zombies when unarmed. Means, that they won't follow the player so long. The Zombies are hunting me for a ridiculous long time and also long range. So unarmed players would get at least a chance of getting a weapon sometime and not being eaten alive every start of the Game.This would be a relatively easy if...then... script and should be easy to be intergrated in the Game.Remember: I only want a shorter hunting Range for unarmed Players. If you have a Weapon, it stays at it is in the Moment.What do you think about it? I'm sure I have some footage of myself getting rid of zombies within seconds plenty of times if you need a video example...I always just find a thick part of the woods with lots of shrubs and crouch run through it. Hence any simulator requires the user to pull out the handbook and do a little reasherach on how to combat a brain eating zombie. Zheiko (DayZ) 10 Posted July 19, 2012 Nope, this is something I do not agree with, those zombies would be annoying in real life, and they really do not care whether you have weapon or not, so leave it as it is, maybe fix a little the fact that once you run inside the building, they stop chasing you imediately, I'd give them at least the option to run inside with you before loosing you completely, and then loose you when you lets say run the stairs, or use second exit out of building... could be however deadly if the building had only one entrance:DLike its today, I see many players just runing through the town with no caution, pulling 5-10 zombies, and loosing them after runing through first building... and then I am like, 'why the hell am I even trying to crouch here and go as quietly as possible, if this is doable this other way?' 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

This is trying to be a realism (as much as you can where zombies are involved) mod, making additions like that goes against that philosophy.Besides, I'm no veteran and on my current life I spawned at Drakon, accidentally aggroed right away, thought 'Fck it' and ran through Elektro trailing zeds, zig zagging through gardens and buildings until I got to the church. Once I got inside (praying there was a weapon) there was only one left following me.It really is easy to break their line of sight and lose them - just don't forget to crouch walk again so you don't re-aggro them. maever 0 Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) I wonder if you would still agree with your current philosophy after a good month+ of playing.A lot of initial annoyances within te community seem to originate from lack of experience in the game, I will admit, the game has a fairly steep learning curve (as well as a good few quirks).The game is very rewarding to those who understand it's rules.It really gives a sense of accomplishment and when that fades you can always boost your ego by sniping helpless players for no reason in Cherno / Elektro ;p (as many seem to do). jcb022 2 Posted July 19, 2012 If rocket decides to shorten zombie 'hunting' time, which I don't think he will, the majority of the populous would be displeased, this is not meant to be a game that is easy on the new player, it's meant to test your wit's and strength's to try and survive in this alternate reality, if these types of zombies were in reality, I believe the hunting time would be drastically longer.please do not complain about how the zombies are enjoying a fine dine on your intestines, because not everyone has that same problem, you will get better with time, knowledge, and skill. It's not that hard, plenty of tactics have been posted above on how to do it.Reducing the hunting time for unarmed players just makes it easier for n00bs, which is not something this mod is about, its supposed to be a frustrating, learn-from-your-mistakes-or-die-quickly type of game.
