Weapon choices: Affected by updates in the future?

Prior to this, I had sought out long range, accurate, hard-hitting sniper rifles because, hey;

Sidearms are for zombies, which are easy, I'll save the big guns for the real competition.

zombies are slowly getting even with us, however. (I try to ignore hackers)

Increased sight, ever increasing darkness and view distance limits are giving me second thoughts for what weapons I should pick.

Turning up video settings to run around fearless just isn't viable anymore; Chemlights and flashlights are now being put to use.

Examples:

I actually could not raid the airfield last night because I was forced to use a flashlight as my secondary and the one zombie attacking me rendered me helpless;

I can't even see the zombie; so even if I manage to N0SCOP3 him, I risk attracting the horde and giving my exact position to players nearby.

Sniper rifles because; I need to get the first hit and that first hit must knock him unconscious so I can quickly lay down the finisher before he realizes what's happening or I simply headshot.

But if combat logging issue is fixed, would sniper rifles still reign supreme for pvp? or will fog give assault rifles (especially the rifles with scopes) and LMG's a fighting edge?

Even if sniper rifles still hold the pvp title, it would definitely give much more flexibility in the darkness; as mentioned above.

Perhaps now I won't get annoyed when I find a FAL, despite having the super common Enfield.

Your thoughts?
