Random crashes to desktop

After about 15 minutes of playtime my screen starts flickering, my ingame character drops to the ground (wtf?), and then the game crashes: 'Arma 2 has stopped working and had to close'. If I then restart Arma 2 it is bugged as hell, graphic artifacts everwhere. Even google chrome is then bugged, with pieces of graphic drawn in the wrong place etc. Very weird. I then restart my comp, search for a server again, join, and after 15 minutes the same thing happens. Does anyone else experience this?

My specs: Ati HD6950 AMD 955 BE 8GB

I installed in this order Arma 2, Arma 2 OA (from Amazon), then Arma 1.60 patch, then I use the DayZUpdater to install Dayz

I've had very weird graphical issues when running ArmA 2 on my GTX 460 2x SLI setup. The game is just really hard on graphics cards. Try updating your graphics drivers, and just know that ArmA's engine is like a Cardio Stress Test for your gpu.

And yes, I've had Chrome and even youtube videos freak out the GPU while ArmA2 is running in the background.

This is the exact same crash.

Will try some of the things that are suggested in the comments and will tell if it worked.

Have you managed to fix this? I have the exact issue with a similiar config.
